Neofetch Themes

A project which aims at making your life more convenient by putting a bunch of neofetch configs in a single place.

Normal:

NOTE: On Arch-based distros, run yay -S ttf-material-design-icons-extended, otherwise the pacman packages won't work. On other distros you can install Material Design Icons Desktop TTF from this repository.

NOTE: You will need to install any one Nerd font and use it in your terminal for the above theme to render the icons correctly. To install the fonts, download any one monospaced font from Nerd fonts download page and extract the downloaded .zip file and copy its contents into a folder in either \usr\share\fonts or ~\.local\share\fonts

Installation

GUI

Go to the .config directory in your home folder using your file manager.
Note: Press Ctrl + H to locate it, as it is a hidden directory.
Navigate into the neofetch directory.
Open the file config.conf with your preferred text editor and replace the text inside it with the config from your favorite theme.

E. g.: You want to use Mixedfetch, click on Mixedfetch on the readme or locate it from the repo. There will be a config.conf file, copy the contents and paste it in your own config.conf file, save the file and you're done!

CLI

Backup your config. By running

cd ~/.config/neofetch/ && rename config.conf configbackup.conf config.conf

you save your current config in the file configbackup.conf.

Clone this repository by running

git clone https://github.com/Chick2D/neofetch-themes/

in your preferred folder.

cat neofetch-themes/<folder>/<file> > ~/.config/neofetch/config.conf

where <folder> is the section in this readme, while <file> is the file name of the config of this theme.

For example: If you want papirus, it'd be

cat neofetch-themes/normal/papirus.conf > ~/.config/neofetch/config.conf

Please don't remove the link to this repo from the configs and If you post this on reddit try mention which neofetch-theme you're using

To add your own theme send a pull request containing your file in the appropriate directory, a screenshot in the readme and it's name, you can understand the syntax yourself its very easy

the package name is "ttf-material-design-icons-extended"

Font issue

All fonts can't show symbols, used in those config files. So can anyone kindly suggest me (us) some (mono space/ terminal) fonts to view those icons inside terminal?

What Font do i need for the Icons to display properly?

What fonts do you use?

How do I use the fonts?

I'm using Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm.

How do I define a font in the config.conf? All I'm getting are hollow squares as fonts.
I installed the fonts in /usr/share/fonts and ~.local\share\fonts but nothing works.

Nerd fonts removed support for some of the icons

Nerd fonts removed support for some of the icons, and replaced with other codes, and even using ttf-material-design-icons-extended on Arch does not work. Nerd font offers replacement for all of the icons, as far as i can tell, so maybe themes should be updated to use new icons from Nerd fonts? Replacing with new values from nerdfonts works. For example f5aa (blender) can be replaced with f00ab? Not sure if this is something you would care too do in this repo, or should original creators make the changes. Here is changelog on nerdfonts https://www.nerdfonts.com/releases.

The icons don't work for me

The icons featured in "insert name" and "insert name 2 electric boogalo" configs do not work for me and appear bugged, as shown in the screenshot below. How to fix it?
