floatingfixed's Introduction

This is a quick little jQuery plugin to provide "sticky rail" functionality. Call $.floatingFixed() on an element that is position: absolute, and when the element would scroll off the screen, it will instead be "stuck" on the screen, and will return to its original position when you scroll it back into view. See example.html for more details.

floatingfixed's Issues

Cannot Run Twice When Elements Added/Removed From Page

FloatingFixed was throwing an error if the element was removed from the page because the scroll method was not unbinding. I edited my fork to unbind if windowScroll throws an error (ie the element is removed from the page) which works as expected but when I try to run floatingFixed again, it throws another error because I believe it is still looking for the removed element.

I would really like to utilize your plugin and am open to any suggestions on getting this working correctly when elements are added and removed from a page(ie backbone.js application).

Thx
