Simply Tools

Curseforge CurseForge

Modrinth Modrinth

Simply Tools is the successor of the mods Vanilla Hammers combined with Vanilla Excavators. These tools can mine in a 3x3 area. Hammers for blocks like stones, and excavators for blocks like dirt. The two base mods started as a port from the Fabric version, which you can find here (Hammers) and here (Excavators).

Minecraft Launching

Hello,

When I download this mod and add it into my mod library, the game starts up for a second and immediately closes. I tried downloading all the other mods in the description to work with it, but it still doesn't load. (The game being opening to the home screen, not the launcher or a particular save).

Thanks!:D

Issue description

Durability config file does not accurately affect tools actual durability.

I have the durability set to 10x the normal durability however the tools just end up breaking at around 2120 (Also tried at 5x and it breaks at around 900) remaining durability (iron). So even though the number is displaying a higher durability the tool itself breaks far before ever reaching 0. As such, changing the durability seems to little to nothing for the tools. I experienced this with a Diamond Hammer as well but can't remember when it broke. I also have not tried this with the excavators, only the hammers.

Steps to reproduce

1.) Change the durability
2.) Use the hammer tool
3.) Watch it break before actually hitting 0 durability.

Issue description

The animation for the 3x3 area looks correct but when it ends only the middle block breaks. I've tried with every Excavator and Hammer at all enchanted levels. I've checked my configuration and I am not sneaking.

I tried updating to the latest SimplyTools hoping for a fix but that version requires me to use a higher version of Forge which breaks other mods. I tried just using SimplyTools latest version in a new world by itself and I am seeing the same issue. The Forge version I used in that case was 47.1.44, the other mods (LibX, MoreVanillaLib) stayed the same.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install the above-mentioned versions of Forge and the mods
  2. Load into a creative world
  3. Utilize either hammer or excavator at the appropriate level (Ii.e. Obsidian)

Issue description

Excavators and hammers lose an additional point of durability when used; breaking the default 3x3 square consumes 10, not 9, durability, etc. Even mining only a single applicable block at a time will consume 2 durability, except while sneaking to disable area mining.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Acquire a wooden hammer.
  2. While In Survival mode, continuously mine stone with area mining enabled until the hammer breaks. (Make sure to pick up the drops.)
  3. Observe that the hammer has only mined a total of 79 blocks, despite its maximum durability being 88; an extra 9 points of durability were consumed during use seemingly for no reason.

Other information

I tested and confirmed that this occurs with every tool.

Issue description

There seems to be an issue with combining enchanted books in an anvil with hammers that been used. Brand new ones work fine, but as soon as they take durability damage, it no longer works. It will let you combine them, but the new enchantments will not be adding. Same goes for combining two hammers together. I did not test with with the excavators, only the hammers.

How do I repair your hammers?

I also have Morevanillalib and Morevanillatools installed.

I have tried to repair with an anvil, I cannot romove the repaired tool.
The grindstone does nothing.
Also I tried repairing in the Crafting Grid, also nothing.

Please teach me how to repair your tools. I really like using them, but they do get expensive when you can't repair them.

Localization / Enchantment names & descriptions

Using Simply Tools 1.19.1-1.1.3 - without More Vanilla Tools (haven't tried with it) - the enchantment names and descriptions aren't showing up ingame. This can easily be fixed by editing the localization files in the \assets\simplytools\lang folder:

enchantment.morevanillalib.power_of_the_depth should be enchantment.simplytools.power_of_the_depth
enchantment.morevanillalib.power_of_the_depth.desc should be enchantment.simplytools.power_of_the_depth.desc
