hypertest's Issues

Great Job..!!!

Hi Chandru,

It's really nice to see you coming up with a framework for automating the webapps.
I work as a Module lead in a Software company in India and I have worked extensively in Selenium Webdriver and developed 4-5 automation frameworks since 2008. The design of your framework looks to be innovative , but lacks certain features which is quite essential in this Agile world.

Firstly the stuffs you have offered already exists in Selenium IDE, Of course Loops, are not supported, but still options like record and play, export to different programming languages , options of implementing more than 50 Selenium API' dominates the market.Tester will ideally prefer to use selenium IDE in this case.Addition of existing API to the tool looks to be attractive.

The tool looks easy to use for TestCase range between 10-50, But in case of 5000 test cases, maintenance becomes a huge task. Lack of structured page object model becomes disadvantageous to implement this tool for a testing project. A repository for definining the page object should be implemented.

Integration with SOAPUI tool,TestLink management tool, Jmeter will make this hypertest more best.

Could be better if there is support for implementing different Listener Adapters. I should take screenshot only in case of a failure alone, not for each test step.

Integration with JIRA will help tester to file a bug automatically on case of failure. Re-run of only failed test cases.

Support of Implicit wait and Explicit wait can be implemented in a structured fashion.

Options for handling security exception for different browsers.Options for running Single test cases in multiple threads without using Grid will be much better.

Varying options for paramerterizing the testcase, ie getting data from excel, notepad etc,

You have started it well, All of my opinions are based out of my experience and with an intention to make Hypertest a best one I shall try to contribute and commit some code changes.

Regards
Prasanna Balakrishnan (SASTRA..2008 CSE..!!!!)...
