You can install Repo by compiling it from source.

Dependencies

Ensure you have these dependencies installed beforehand:

  • meson
  • vala
  • glib-2.0
  • gobject-2.0
  • gtk+-3.0 >= 3.18
  • gee-0.8
  • granite >= 0.5.0
  • software-properties-common

Building

Run make build in the project's root folder.

Installing

Run make install

Investigate how best to introspect and modify apt sources

What's the best way to introspect into and modify the user's apt sources? Perhaps this can be done without depending on software-properties-common...?

Look into the /etc/apt/sources.list file. Is this the only place sources can be managed? I recall there being support for nesting sources in a /etc/apt/sources/ folder. Why? For organization?

Assuming add-apt-repository is installed on a user's system, to remove a PPA:

sudo add-apt-repository --remove [some PPA]
