i only tested the extension warning patch and it works. you can add this browser to README.md.

you can also remove Opera and Vivaldi from README.md because they do not need extension and urlbar patches (i do not know what other two patches do though).

Chrome just updated to the latest and when using the patcher it gives this error.

Running windows version 20H2 (Build 19052.746) which integrated Edge more fully into OS, wondering if that's the issue.

NVM! I figured it out. The program automatically selected an outdated version of the Chrome.dll! I was on 84 instead of 85! My bad, sorry!

The full message I receive upon opening the browser: "Your Chromium version is newer than the patch definition's version! Please reuse the patcher to prevent bugs or failing pattern searches! Do you want to patch anyway?" Despite re-trying to patch multiple times, it still does not work. It did seem to disable the developer mode warning popup; however, HTTPS / www does not show up in the URL address bar and I keep getting the "Your Chromium version is newer..." message every time I launch my browser.

Since google try to kill ad blockers by changing the API. is it possible to use this tool to make ad blockers powerful again

unfortunately I've noticed that with Release 4.0 the patcher doesn't patch all chrome instances anymore. In my workflow I often rely on multitasking. It happens more often that I have about 100 Chrome windows open. Unfortunately, the patcher often only takes care of some of them, not all. I am using the latest version of chrome.

I am curious if you find a solution!

I've tried the patcher with the new Chromium Edge and it wasn't able to find msedge.dll as the target dll file. I had to follow the steps outlined here to get it working:

Previously we could remove it from Context Menu using the Send tab to self flag. But they removed the flag couple of versions back. I was hoping if you could somehow give us a patch to remove it.

i tried to use the Patcher. On V79 64-bit it worked fine. But it seems its not working for 32-bit, am i right its not supported - or am i doing something wrong?

What versions are supported?
It doesn't work for Chrome 65 Portable (64 bit). It gives "Couldn't find offset for a patch Remove Extension Warning" error.

Would it be possible to implement a feature, to fully disable Chrome auto-updates and the pop-up,
saying the browser is not up-to-date? That would be really great.

I took a little look on the source code and came across this description line.
"A logon task that automatically injects the ChromePatcher.dll into every Chromium process that the user installed the patcher on. This makes removing the Developer Mode Extension Warning possible.".
I'm a bit confused, does the program inject a modified DLL into chrome processes to prevent the warnings or does it patch the chrome.dll once and permanently so no future patches are required (unless chrome updates)?

With the new version 85 of Brave, I uninstalled your tool and I even uninstalled Brave to reinstall it cleanly and it seems that there is no more need to patch against the notification box that warns of an extension in developer mode.

Is it a dream or ... an error ?

Can you please try to return back the option for the trapezoid tab design to Chrome?

This option was available in UI layout => normal at chrome://flags.
But the normal parameter was removed in Chrome 71.
This problem was very discussed. Many users decided to use an old Chrome version because of the new tab design.
I hope for you. That can make this patch much popular. Please try.

i found out your autopatch dll may be triggering anticheat and got me actually banned from Warframe and BattleEye Blocked

Great tool, does the job done, the warning stops showing but there is an issue with Netflix which makes me not to use this patcher until this gets fixed (hope it will, thank you in advance). Netflix refuses to stream anymore after patching, an error M7121-1331 occures (this title can't be streamed right now, something like that, every title). Reinstalling chrome solves the problem so the issue comes from something wrong with this patcher for sure. Will be glad for solving it. Thank you for your hard work.

I use this only to remove the developer warning, but every time I shut down, the patch stops working and the warnings appear again? Any way to stop this from happening

currently, there's no way for me to get your patcher to work on W10 1909 or 2004 when trying to patch Edge. Start of the program is completely normal, but the instant I touch the (Re-)Install button, the process freezes. Therefore not even a log entry is available. This is all I get:

[The title bar text in parentheses (Keine Rückmeldung) is the German equivalent to Not responding]

Afterwards all I can do is to kill the process... Needless to say that the patches are not applied.

BTW: I tried that on several PCs (the above screenshot is from a 1909 machine) - the result is always the same. :( Is there a special requirement for your Patcher?

Curious if it is possible to remove this pop-up too?

It's a warning after crashing, other option is to change ~/.config/chromium/Default/Preferences and set "exit_type": "Normal" and "exited_cleanly": true before each start.
But patching is much cooler :-)

hey could you remove the injector pls?, or could you tell me how to disable them during startup?

• Add backups for the chrome.dll
• Notify the user if the dll is missing
• Update "Remove Elision" to Chromium 83
• Maybe add patterns of instructions leading to the address instead in the future
• Load a DLL instead of patching it statically
• Show patch progress / Disable button while patching?

first of all thanks for the amazing patcher. My business computer is running windows 7 x86. The patcher doesn't work with chrome running on it. Hopefully you can do something about it.

As per title

Thank you so much for publishing this. Also, I noticed that it works on the new Edge after changing two paths.

After my edge updated to the latest version, the patcher doesn't work anymore.

This used to works normally in 4.3 and below version, but now when I already have patched the Chrome with the new one , notification warning extensions in sandboxed Chrome still appearing out but not in normal/unsandboxed chrome.

I preferred sandboxing my chrome with Sandboxie and that notifications kinda annoying, that's why I used this patcher. Since previous version still working, I'll just keep using that.

Again, thanks for this tool, which make some of chromium's offsprings usable again!

I just need the simple commandline patcher without any further registry and task services.

The Patcher was working with Avast Secure Browser Chromium until version 4.3.0 , now it doesn't work anymore.

It used to work fine but now since the new patch, edge takes a longer time to get up and running.

Also in the newer versions of Patcher, I see some extra files like TaskScheduler.dll and CommandLine.dll. Are those the ones slowing it down? Is there any other way or bypass or something to make the launch time faster again.

And... why do you use bck file extension for backup copies? The standard file extension is bak.
