Just wanted to share this solution I came up with that doesn't require Python or pip and uses the bash script:

      bash codecov.sh -f "./coverage.xml"

Ideally, it would be awesome to have a PowerShell version of the script, but the AppVeyor environment always includes git, which always includes bash, so this always works without having to install anything.

I wanted to try this and check how the coverage file looks like but it doesn't collect any coverage data at all:

No results, this could be for a number of reasons. The most common reasons are:

1. missing PDBs for the assemblies that match the filter please review the
   output file and refer to the Usage guide (Usage.rtf) about filters.
2. the profiler may not be registered correctly, please refer to the Usage
   guide and the -register switch
