This repo provides a JavaScript compiled (emscripten) version of libheif. The library is included as a submodule link, and compiled using the original repo scripts without modification to source or build scripts. You can get the compiled version from the releases page.
If you have found your way here while looking for a libheif version that you can install from npm, you are in the wrong place. Take a look at libheif-js instead.

Having a wasm version of this would be much faster I believe!
Hello, I just wanted to let you know that a PR of mine has been merged into libheif to the emscripten build script (strukturag/libheif#925), it now builds with the latest SDK and outputs WebAssembly by default.
You will have to update your scripts to make that work correctly, or pass USE_WASM=0 into the build script to get the same output as before.
This would also fix #10 afaik
Hello, I just tested latest release, and it does not work with avif image. Test image can be opened even inside chrome, so it okay avif image.
