Steps to reproduce:

• 1. create a Dockerfile[1] with "problematic" contents
• 2. create a tar file from it
• 3. run xgenext2fs using the generated tar as tarball.

$ docker buildx build -f Dockerfile -o type=tar,dest=ca-cert.tar .

xgenext2fs[3]

xgenext2fs -a ca-cert.tar foo.ext2

I had a script that used --squash-uids flag, and it is not working anymore with this genext2fs.

genext2fs --squash-uids
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

While the original don't have this issue:

/usr/bin/genext2fs --squash-uids
/usr/bin/genext2fs: Not enough arguments. Try --help or else see the man page.

A release will provide the generated artifacts (such as the binary .deb) from CI for more than 90 days.
