dota's Issues

Anyone tried with YOLOv3 or YOLOv4?

I just want to ask that, is there anyone who tried DOTA v1.0 with YOLOv3 or YOLOv4?

I am currently trying to train my model with YOLOv4-tiny but the mAP values are much less than the declared ones in the website. Could there be an incompatibility or other problem with the higher version YOLO algorithms?

Confusion with two part1.zip files in the training data.

Hello,

I have downloaded the dataset, however, I find a slight issue in the training split of the data. In train/images/ there are three parts (part1.zip, part2.zip, and part3.zip) and a folder, which contains part1.zip. Is it safe to assume, that both part1.zip's contain the same data? They are at least the same size.

Thanks!
Marvin

Image resolution

The paper about DOTA states that they "provide the spatial resolution for each image in our dataset, which implies the actual size of an instance" – however, I have been unable to find the information about image resolution. Neither is it included in the json files, nor can the resolution be accessed through rasterio's Affine module (NotGeoreferenceWarning: Dataset has no geotransfrom, gcps, or rpcs. The identity matrix be returned.)

I'd be happy hearing from someone having had the same issue and solved it.

No feedback received

I have submitted the compressed package on the DOTA official website and have not received any feedback emails; Then five days ago, I sent the situation and compressed package to [email protected] So far, we have not received any feedback emails.

Annotation tools

Thanks for your excellent work!

What annotation tools did you use, please? Do you have a plan to release it?

downloading dota2

Hi,
Baidu download is not available outside china and account needs Chinese phone number.
one-drive also has problem downloading large files...
So how can I download Dota2!!??
thank you!

Can I get the mAP75 metric?

Dear Sir:
Submitting the test set results returned only the mAP50 metric, could you please provide the mAP75 metric?

When will DOTA2.0 challenge start?

According to DOTA dataset page, "Test-challenge contains 6,053 images and 1,090,637 instances. The images and ground truths of test-challenge will be available only during the challenging."

What's the plan for this challenge? When will it be announced?

Thank you!

You're seeing this error because you have DEBUG = True in your Django settings file. Change that to False, and Django will display a standard page generated by the handler for this status code.

Labels test-challenge DOTAv2

Hello,

will the labels of the test-dev or test-challenge for DOTA-v2.0 also be made public, now, that the challenge is over? Or are they both used for the DOTA-v2.0 evaluation?

Best,
Marvin

First point: head left or just any side of the head?

I am looking at oriented annotations for ships in DOTA v1.0. The paper of DOTA says:

To make a more detailed annotation, as illustrated Fig. 3, we emphasize the importance of the first point (x1,y1), which normally implies the “head” of the object. For helicopter, large vehicle, small vehicle, harbor, baseball diamond, ship and plane, we carefully denote their first point to enrich potential usages.

Does it mean that the first point can correspond to either the left or right of the head?

I have been exploring the annotations with my own visualization code and I observe that in most of the cases corresponds to the left of the head. But in a few cases it corresponds to the right of the head. Now I am unsure whether if my code is wrong or the annotations are on the head regardless of left or right.

So, what is the rule?

DOTA 1.0 and 1.5 Evaluation servers

I have been trying from last two days to evaluate my results on the dota evaluation servers

After submitting my results, I am getting an error message saying that "This site can’t be reached".

Is the problem from my side or is the server under some maintenance?

I have a deadline coming and I want results on DOTA datasets.

Could you kindly let me know a probable date from when the servers will be reachable again?

Thank you !

The same file returns different results

Yesterday I uploaded file and it returned this result:
image
However, today i uploaded the same file which i checked they are really same and it returned the result:
image
what cause this situation? I noticed that the test website was closed for a while today, is this the cause?

Can we get image source labels of the test set?

Hi!

Thanks for the dataset.
Can we get image source labels and GSD for each image in the test set?
It would be very helpful if you share the image source and GSD of each image in the test set.
Thank you!
