inDoors

Browser extension that displays Glassdoor ratings for companies while browsing LinkedIn, Indeed, Handshake, and Google for Jobs.

About

This extension uses an API proxy built on top of the Glassdoor API. Rating data is cached on the server and browser for a month. Clicking on the rating opens up the reviews page for the company or the search results page if the company is not found. Mousing over the rating brings up a tooltip with the company's website and industry name.

Notes

The fewer reviews a company has, the less likely Glassdoor will correctly find it. To improve chances of the finding the correct company, inDoors will try stripping the company name of company suffixes, generic company name endings, and locations as well as text after colons, dashes, vertical bars, parentheses, and commas (except for Inc), prioritize exact word matches in the results given by Glassdoor, and finally use the mappings in misdirected-names.js. Pull requests on that file are welcome.

[Request] redirect to appropriate country specific glassdoor site

Currently if you click on glassdoor reviews link that comes under company name, it takes you to glassdoor.com/company-url but can it be changed to auto redirect to region specific site, e.g. glassdoor.co.in ?

fix extension on Indeed

Not working on Firefox Developer Edition

Not showing anything on Firefox Developer Edition. I opened an incognito window as well with the only active addons being inDoors, uBlock Origin, and Bitwarden and it still didn't show, so it doesn't appear to be addon interference.

Installed it on Chrome just to double-check and it worked fine over there (similarly uBlock and Bitwarden were also installed). I don't have normal Firefox to check if it's working as intended there.

Screenshot is not phenomenal but left is Firefox Developer Edition, right is Chrome.

Reviews on LinkedIn don't seem to update

When opening a job search on LinkedIn, the reviews in the list on the left are accurate but the right panel only shows the rating of the initially selected job ad. So if company X is selected initially, all other job ads will show the rating of company X.

You can see it in the screenshot below. When hovering over the rating, you can see that it doesn't match the company name and it also doesn't match the rating in the list.

I'm using firefox 88.0.1

How did you get API access

Hey I wanted to build something similar but I don't know how to get glassdoor API access.

Could you help me out here? If that isn't possible, would you mind if I used your proxy for my own extension? It's just a personal project nothing big.

Feature request: glassdoor ratings on "my jobs" page

Currently, on this page, you have to click on the job listing, and then click on the company in order to see their glassdoor rating. It'd be nice to have glassdoor ratings on the separate job listing page too- https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?*

Not working on linkedIn

Doesn't seem to work on this job page. Am I missing something?

The extension seems to have stopped working on Indeed.com

For a little while, it worked flawlessly. The past few days though, it doesn't work on Indeed. There is this error in the console:

indeed.js:5 Uncaught ReferenceError: appendGlassdoor is not defined
    at indeed.js:5:9
    at Array.forEach (<anonymous>)
    at indeed.js:3:6

I am running Chromium (latest) on Lubuntu (latest). I tried both with and without uBlock Origin but the result is the same.
