This is the repository for the computer vision team at BYU's record linking lab. The goals of this lab are to grow the family tree and help family history work via AI. We use Detectron2 and other models to automatically extract information from historical documents.

Build a HWR model to recognize and transcribe words

Utah Death Records:

Fix the row segmentation

The model has been trained, but the rows not very accurate, likely because the lines are too faint. Try using a different segmentation tool. Possibly Ransac segmenter from the FHTL

Migrate CV projects in organization Repo to Team Repos

A bunch of our projects are in the organization repo, it would be great if we could consolidate all of our projects to our team instead. This reduces a bit of clutter for those on the other teams who also use that space. If there is code that would be mutually beneficial to the other teams, we should put that in the organization repos.
