I've been looking for something to require node JS into web pages for a few hours...dreading having to write my own, since none really acted how I wanted...but now I've found yours. It seems perfect for what I need...so I installed the package. WHAT? Why is it compiling? Expresso depends on some code-coverage thing. But I don't want expresso OR this code coverage thing installed.

devDependencies

If someone is planning on downloading and using your module in their program, then they probably don't want or need to download and build the external test or documentation framework that you use.

In this case, it's best to list these additional items in a devDependencies hash.

These things will be installed whenever the --dev configuration flag is set. This flag is set automatically when doing npm link, and can be managed like any other npm configuration param. See npm help config for more on the topic.

a change from

to

Object.defineProperty(NpmModule.prototype, 'dir', {
   get: function () {
     return path.join(npm.dir, this.name);
   }
 });

in lib/npm_module.js fixed finding npm packages again, for me.

please add npm to the dependencies in package.json.
