So that you don't get the same item more than once.
After making a guess, the dialog showing the guessed and actual locations displays the score of the previous round, not the current one. It is only possible to see your score by looking at the *Last Round Score" in the lower left corner after dismissing the dialog.
It's a fun game by the way!
Images which are very wide (as is the case with panoramics) are partially covered by the minimap, potentially hiding important information (e.g., this picture). Zooming in or out of the page is no real help because the image often stays at its previous size (due to being scaled down), while the minimap doesn’t change its position. The only workaround so far seems to be copying the image URL and opening it in a new tab, which however often reveals the location and is against the spirit of the game.
The Facebook and Twitter share buttons at the end of the game still reference the original whereami game, instead of this repository.
I just had an image of a river bank that the guessr's map had located 4km away from that river bank.
It would be good if there were an option to go and fix the underlying items - perhaps after the guessing step and before moving on to the next image.
It would also be useful to have some more explanation of how the distances and scores are calculated - if Wikidata has only one geolocation for a city, then most images from within that city will always be off a bit, unless the task is clarified to something like "pinpoint the center of the closest administrative unit" or so.
