I'm getting no data from my radicale carddav server:

$ mkdir -p /home/hugo/.config/muttvcardsearch/
$ muttvcardsearch --name=radicale "--server=https://calendar.barrera.io/hugo/contacts.vcf" --username hugo --password *****
$ muttvcardsearch --create-local-cache
Creating cache entries for config section [radicale], URL: [https://calendar.barrera.io/hugo/contacts.vcf]
Export failed, nothing found

I've opened the above URL in a browser with the provided credentials, and the response is what's expected (eg: a succession of vcard files).

I don't know how to debug this, but I can provide a test account on my server if you like.

Could support for ~/.netrc files be added so the password can be read from that file?

It would be nice that when you increase the version number in the code there is a tag set

that makes it easy to see if there is a stable update

I have a xandikos server behind nginx (for authentication).

$ muttvcardsearch --create-local-cache
Creating cache entries for config section [xand_personal], URL: [http://192.168.2.1:8099/usr/contacts/personal]
Export failed, nothing found

vdirsyncer and DavX5 sync fine with it. Here are the server logs for vdirsyncer sync and muttvcardsearch --create-local-cache:

Working a lot offline (or with very poor connections) querying can take a long time (since the upstream server is polled as well). Aditionally, polling the server results in me seeing all my contacts, due to a known bug in radicale.

An option to only poll the local cache would be fantastic. Can we expect this feature in the future?

Since you are abbandoning the project, are you willing to transfer the repo to me ?

I'll gladly keep it alive and maybe add more features on the go.

Is there any way to allow for using gnome-keyring-query inside of muttvcardsearch? Gkq is written in C but maybe there is a way to allow users to execute a shell command to add the option? A description of gkq is available at the link below. Thanks either way. Muttvcardsearch is a great addition for mutt.
