Where it says "Add the following lines to both Makeconf files (or modify the these settings if they already exist):"

maybe it would be appropriate to say

"Add the following lines to the top of both Makeconf files (...)" (or whatever is the correct English word: top, beginning, ...).

Why am I suggesting this? I have had a couple of installation failures that I attribute to having added the

LOCAL_SOFT = c:/local323
LIB_XML = c:/local323
NETCDF = c:/local323
LIB_GSL = c:/local323

at the bottom (but at least some of those variables are used to set other variables previously, I think).

Where it says
"•Install R-3.3.0 Add the following lines to $_HOME\etc\Rprofile.site "

the path should start with $R_HOME (not $_HOME). The R is missing
