mog-export's Issues

Works well, issue if no favorite playlists

Thanks for this! The html that formats is a nice touch. I'm going to make a csv or something to get the playlist into rdio, spottify, iTunes, etc.since I do have so many large playlists. I put my favorite-favorites in playlists be genre, mood, etc and there's no way I want to manually recreate those.

They really should allow just general comments so people can say nice things on here. :-)

There are a couple of minor issues that inexperienced people might not be able to deal with though.

When I execute it from the Chrome console I just get 'undefined' because it doesn't end with "return true;" or similar. So, I just added a "return true;" statement at the end before the final close bracket and that avoided the "undefined" which might be confusing although it doesn't matter.

However, I can test to see that the exportJSON(); executes but nothing ever happens in FireFox. On Chrome the download is created though. I expect download.click() doesn't work in FireFox but I just ran it in Chrome to avoid the issue.

Also, if you have no favorite playlists then playlistFavorites.models.length is always one anyway which will also never match so nothing exports even on Chrome if you have no favorite playlists. I just commented out the playlistFavorites lines and it worked although checking for the existence of at least one favorite playlist before exporting would probably work too.

Alternatively, if a user doesn't want to edit the script then they can find someone else's playlist and favorite it just to have one. :-)

Thanks and Questions

Brendan, thanks for writing mog-export. A lot of MOG users should be desperate for this right about now with a very different Beats service replacing our beloved MOG. I really want to try this, but first three newbie questions:

(1) How does one run this JavaScript after opening the MOG player?
(2) Is any browser recommended over the others? I have Firefox, Chrome and IE.
(3) I did some checking and see no reason to doubt that you're an honest developer trying to help others, but is there any words of assurance and advice you can provide to alleviate my fears about running this relatively unknown script?

Thanks for understanding.
