cdncomparison's Issues

DNSSEC

Working ticket to indicate if a provider uses DNSSEC for their records.

Add Akamai

Would be great to add Akamai if possible. Assuming one can decode their pricing structure and if they offer a simple one to begin with.

Please consider adding the following CDN providers

I love what you have done here. Seems like one of the few "comparison" sites that are easy to follow in chart form while fairly comprehensive.

Please consider adding the following CDN providers:
https://cdnsun.com/
https://www.cdn77.com

I see you have closed a few other requests out stating pull request required. Is it your requirement that the requester research the answers and submit a pull request on cdncomparison/index.html with the requested changes?

Thank you so much for your time...

Adding CDN77 review

Hi Ethan @betahex ,

I'm quite surprised to discover that you have removed CDN77 from your website cdncomparison.com
May I ask for the reasons why you've made this?

I'd like to know the reasons so that we can improve/change anything... Is there something we can do to undo this?

You can reach out to me also at [email protected].

Thanks for your time and reply.

A row for "Flexible SSL" support

I'm not sure this is an industry-wide term, but Flexible SSL, as defined by CloudFlare, refers to the situation where: "there is an encrypted connection between your site visitors and CloudFlare, but not from CloudFlare to your server." (That is, the connection between the CDN and the user is encrypted, but the connection between the CDN and the origin is not.)

Add Cloudflare

I don't see Cloudflare listed unless their CDN goes by another name, by all indications on their site they developed their own CDN.

question about your comparison

Hello there,

I am Dmitriy from SkyparkCDN.
I would like to add SkyparkCDN to http://cdncomparison.com/ and firstly I need to clarify some points:

  1. Concerning RTMP Streaming features, we do not support RTMP. Can we replace it to or add a Video on Demand (VOD) over HLS?
  2. What do I need to put in Real-time statistics point if we have statistics with a delay of 1 hour?
  3. What do custom rules mean?
  4. Can we add our own points for comparing? If yes, how will other ISP providers add information about themselves on these points?

Thank you.

Best regards,
Dmitriy Novoselov

adding dropigee

i made a fork to add dropigee another CDN provider I work at.

IPv6

Working ticket to gather data indicate if a providers POPs are accessible over IPv6. This includes the providers DNS resolves also being available over IPv6.

For example, querying edge123.example.myprovider.net should return AAAA records for the nameserver and AAAA records for the host too.

Definitions

We should have some sort of standard definitions for some/most/all of the rows in the table, without which it is hard to add anyone.

Add information about Brotli support?

Hi,

I'm Kenji Baheux working on the web platform in the Chrome team.

Brotli is a new compression algorithm, which is now available in Chrome and Firefox as a content-encoding option for HTTPS. It offers significant compression wins over gzip (e.g. 25% better compression being typical).

Sam Saffron (at Discourse), in his Brotli overview article, suggested that it would be quite useful to have information about Brotli support on cdncomparison.com

It's currently supported by the following CDNs:

  • KeyCDN
  • CDN77 ("appears to be letting Brotli through")

Also, we are aware of a few on-going efforts for other CDNs.
For reference, here are some deployment examples we are aware of: Facebook, Google Fonts.

Would it be possible to add information about Brotli to cdncomparison.com?
Best,

MaxCDN > Stackpath?

MaxCDN is still offered as a stand alone service, but was acquired Stackpath. Maybe use the later here?

By the way: currently preparing a blog post on the topic, this is here safes a lot of time!

invalidation

Can cache invalidation be addressed for these CDNs? Akamai, for example can be pretty slow ( like 10 minutes or more ), while others like Fast.ly are trying to be very fast.

CDN77 minimum pricing

looks like CDN77 has a minimum startup fee of $149 after 14-day free trial. These credits expire after one year unless you "recharge" your account with another minimum of $150 which then extends your funds another year...how lame, they looked pretty great. "confirmed this with support"

Compare purge features: purge-by-tag, wildcard-support in purge-by-url

Hi,

thanks for the page, it's very informative.

I think it would be interesting to evaluate CDNs for the mentioned features.

Purge-by-tag is if you can purge assets by a tag, which the origin server has sent along, e.g. with the "Cache-Tag" header.

Not all CDNs support wildcards in their purge-by-url feature.

Purge-by-tag: KeyCDN, (Cloudflare)
Wildcard-support: Azure, Fastly

Thanks
