ps4-remote-pkg-installer's Issues

Invalid Pin Issue

Hi! So I dont know if this is because my ps4 is on 7.02 but everytime I try to connect the app to the ps4 via manual login PSN it says "Invalid Pin, please enter a valid pin from the PS4 Mobile app connection settings." and I could not figure out what that meant because Id insert the pin from the PS4 remote play settings (from the ps4) and it wouldnt work. Thanks for the app tho!

Installer not recognised on PS4

Hi,

I use the other remote PKG senders very well but would love to try yours, but it fails to show listed as an app in the second-screen section of the PS4 - my mobile does appear OK - any idea ?

Thanks,

Emmanuel

internal server error 500

I have the remote package installer on my ps4 running fw9.0.0

Issue with not finding RPI on my IP

Hey
I tried installing a pkg file over wifi by sending it to the RPI but it seems that the RPI isn't showing up on my IP adress and it just can't be located. Has anyone had this issue before?

Is it possible to install direct to external HDD?

I'm new to the PS4 homebrew scene, but I've heard that you can use App2USB to move your installed PKGs to the external HDD. I plan to go with the APPtoUSB route because my external HDD is much bigger than the internal HDD and I wish to still use the external HDD for regular files, which I wouldn't be able to do so with PS4's official formatting method.

So with this program you can remote install a PKG going from PC -> Internal -> External (with ApptoUSB). My question is if you can add functionality to install directly to the external HDD plugged into the PS4.

PS4 without PSN account

I've got "Invalid PIN" error when trying to authenticate. Does this app work if PS4 was never connected to PSN (there is no PSN account on PS4)?

error sending pkg file

I got this error when sending a local pkg file
PS4ErrorCode(name=SCE_BGFT_ERROR_INVALID_ARGUMENT, code=CE-32918-3, returnCode=0X80990004, description=null)

Docker

Is it possible to containerize it so it can be run on a home server?

Invalid Credentials

Screenshot (90)
Im having an issue where i to connect to my ps4 and then itll say invalid pin go to mobile connection settings, so i do that. enter the pin on the program and then the ps4 accepts it but program refuses to connect. Havent been able to get it to work at all. It refuses to authenticate. Im on ps4 fw 7.02. (Also in screenshot it shows version 0.0.1, it still persists with the same issue in 0.0.7)

[Request] Only send 1 PKG file at a time

Is it possible for you to add a option to only send send 1 PKG install at a time, because I want to mass send a pkg file and send it 1 by 1 in order. If its possible to add link via URL by batch as well that would be awesome.

Requires PSN Login?

Hi - I was using the server gui and in order to connect to my PS4 it would like me to activate using one of few authentication methods - I am curious how I would go about this as I have a 6.72 console that was never PSN activated and would at this time not be able to connect to PSN.

Can you get around this by some means in order to use this tool?

just an idea :)

Hello, first i want to thank you for this great app, then i want to ask you if you can add a show transfer speed option or at least show the percentage in 0.01 increments maybe ? For sending packages of 100gb it's really hard to tell if it's stuck or not. I know you can see in the ps4 download section but i think its nice to have it in your app too :)

Error installing

I'm sorry that I'm having issue with 0.0.7 version. It says as below. Could you please kindly help? Thank you so much!
org.springframework.web.client.ResourceAccessException:I/O error on POST request for "http://192.168.1.218:12800/api/install": Read timed out; nested exception is java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

Install from RAR error

Installing from RAR does not work
gives com.github.junrar.exception.UnsupportedRarV5Exception: null as an error

Running Manjaro KDE - 5.11.6 Kernel

Any ideas why that might happen?

Error installing

Getting this message after installing multiple pkgs from drive:

Error installing:
org.springframework.web.client.ResourceAccessException: I/O error on Post request for "192.1.1.90:12800/api/install": Read times out; nested exception is java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

https links

how to implement the option to send https links, for example get link from media fire, google drive, mega.

they are all https, the default remote pkg installer does not receive this protocol, I really wanted to be able to send my games from my google drive to the console

thanks

File pkg, rar not found on osx big sur

On my iMac with latest version of big Sur tool open without problems but when I try to select any file (.rar, .pkg) and no file is found. Where is the problem? I installed the latest version of Java too.

Not discovering my PS4

Hi!
Thanks for your software. But unfortunately it is not working here.
Wired PS4 pro 6.72 same network as my Mac, but the GUI is not finding the console.
Tried on Win10 too, same.

Is there anything I have to specially setup next to the running PS4 package of the remote installer by flat_z?
Tried a different remote package installer which worked flawless and installed the package directly without any issues.

Thanks

Suggestions/Improvements

Nice app! Here are some suggestions to improve it (in my opinion):

  • Don't enable remote control by default when started. Most users won't use this feature
  • Don't enable the server by default. Personally, I run the web server from a different host.
  • Increase the timeouts duration. Right now they are really short, so for example doing an install from URL from another host, returns an error on the application but the RPI still processes the file correctly
  • Saving the settings on exit: PS4 IP, whether to enable/disable server and remote control

Feature Request - Executable

Hi! I've been trying to convert this into an app on my Mac so that I don't have to run java -jar every time. I've been giving jar2app a shot to begin with.

With jar2app I could even rob the RPI logo from pshax and give it a nice app icon set. Regardless, here's where I'm up to so far:

jar2app -r /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_281.jdk remote_package_installer.jar

This creates the application:

Which actually runs:

image

But, that's as far as I've gotten. It won't start Tomcat when clicking 'OK' (would be nice if you could add extra info to the exception thrown here, as I can't figure out what to do from there):

javapackager is also an official option, but I never managed to get that working - it's not particularly intuitive although I'll keep playing with this.

But for now, I thought this was an interesting experiment for providing releases which fully include the relevant JDK, so users don't even need to care about their Java installation, thus lowering the barrier to entry.

So here's an issue in case you consider this an interesting avenue for releases, which I'd be happy to work on also / test, but if not, feel free to close.
