For 2022 Bearbotics is using this Robot Scouter app ASIS. We will assess after our season whether to continue with the app as is, fork to revise to our own and / or go with something different.
We have seen an operating system problem on some Android phones where files are not showing on the PC when connected to the PC. Basically the latest files (or folders), like the recent folder and files from an Export of the Robot Scout app, are not showing on a connected PC.
To get around this and see the recent files and folders, we saw two types of fixes:
Going to the App manager on the phone to Clear Data and Clear Cache for two system apps: 'external storage' and 'media storage'. This fix does require a reboot. More details here and the Answer referenced is attached below:
The other option is install a media scan app and use its scan capability before connecting the phone to the PC. A scan app we found that works is media.Re.Scan.
The Scouting Team recommends Option 2 and installing a media scan app such that you just need to have it scan and it will update the directory listing. If your phone had already been connect before you scanned, you will need to disconnect then reconnect the phone from the PC after this is done for the PC to look for refreshed list of files and folders.
On some phones when clicking Export (located within the top leftmost menu) the files are not exported. The folder is generated from the Robot Scouter app within the Documents folder, but not files are in the folder and the notification stays on "Export: Initializing...".
