I remember now why I had that - in case we added a layer to bcmaps.rdata
and we hadn't updated bcmaps
on CRAN yet, there would be a layer that you could get via get_layer("new_layer")
but new_layer()
wouldn't work (until we updated bcmaps
with the new shortcut function.
But I agree it's still confusing. What about keeping the shortcut_function
column but make it TRUE/FALSE
to indicate that the shortcut function exists (or not)?
