dwarf-fortress--libgraphics-'s Issues

White tiles get a purple tint when zooming

After converting my tileset to use alpha channel transparency, I noticed that when I zoom (in or out) any white in tiles becomes a light purple. Resetting the zoom level with F12 give the correct color again, and no gray area are affected. Using a backup of the same set before adding the alpha channel does not cause the issue. The sets are in PNG format.

World Creation and size change

Using 40d13, I created a new world while in full screen mode. I used F11 to window DF so I could do other stuff. I selected DF, clicked F11 while world gen was still in process, and got a small picture (the same dimensions as the windowed version) in the upper left corner.

undefined symbol: _ZN9graphicst11changecolorEssc

I get ./dwarfort.exe: symbol lookup error: ./dwarfort.exe: undefined symbol: _ZN9graphicst11changecolorEssc immediately after intro sequence resulting in program crash.

This is on Ubuntu 9.10 using df_28_181_40d17_linux.tar.bz2 and df-40d17-head.tar.bz2 downloaded on 4/18/2010

Incorrect sprites rendered

With Tim's custom tile set d13 seems to be skipping a few of the specified tiles. Fire snakes are not the same, palm trees are the default tree icon, and I'm sure I'll find others as I continue playing. Most of the tiles did in fact load properly so I'm not sure why it skipped/is not rendering a few of them.

Mouse Over Window causes blackout

The title screen goes black when mousing over the windowed DF while another application is active. The menu will update when you change the active selection, much like partial print mode, even in FRAME_BUFFER print mode. WinXP, 40d14.

Crash on select farm culture

if Select Culture (Plump Helmet) on Summer and change menu to (d)Winter and click Enter game is crash.
(in early version (d16) in this situation cursor stand on last culture (Plump Helmet for Winter) if cursor be in Summer under last item in Winter)

(Sorry for Bad English)

Missing files.

The following files are missing (included in random.cpp) :

  • game_g.h
  • game_extv.h

But, perhaps is the 31.04 import still under way.

[WINDOWED:PROMPT] does not work on Mac

I am using version 40d18 on a Mac.
When I set [WINDOWED:PROMPT] in init.txt, I get the prompt, but then it runs in windowed mode regardless of which option I choose. [WINDOWED:NO] correctly runs in fullscreen.

Extremely slow since d12 on a tiling winwowmanager

I'm using the tiling windowmanager stumpwm.

Whenn running df from git-head it is very slow. I need 2 minutes to hilight "Quit" in the main menu.

The console gets flooded with this messages:

Asked for 102x30 grid
Setting to 1022x368, grid 102x30, zoom 1.000000
Using OpenGL output path with client-side arrays and off-screen framebuffer
Room for 12000 vertices allocated
Ideal catalog size: 314x300

When running df under twm it works smoothely. I guess there is a problem with my windowmanager trying to resize the df window all the time. This didn't happen when the df window had a fixed size.

Garbled menu text

Some of the in-game menus are garbled with the hotkey being wrong in some places, and being in the wrong place in some cases, and both in some instances.

The build menu shows this error.

WinXP SP3 Radeon 800. Windowed mode.

Libcaca input/output driver

The attached patch adds support for libcaca: http://zoy.org/~sam/patches/0002-First-go-at-a-libcaca-input-output-driver.patch

The patch causes libcaca to take precedence over ncurses if the CACA macro is defined. I am not familiar with SCons so I do not know how to autodetect the library. But libcaca uses standard pkg-config on Linux systems, so it should be pretty easy to do.

Everything could be improved a lot, but I first wanted to know whether there was interest in that feature.

I only tested it on Linux, but I believe this adds text mode support on Windows.

view thoughts crashes

I had a wider and higher window size than the default size,
I went to units menu, pressed view creature, pressed view thoughts and prefs

Embarking In linux on high res monitor crashes DF 40D16

Embarking with df maximized in windowed mode on a 2048x1152 monitor instantly crashes DF. Once the game has loaded into fortress mode I can maximize the screen and all works well.

Here is the console output on the crash:

KEY_HOLD_MS, KEY_REPEAT_MS

.40d13 on Windows. ATI Radeon 4870, Feb 2009 drivers. Standard American querty keyboard.

KEY_HOLD_MS doesn't seem to have any effect.

KEY_REPEAT_MS seems to control the initial delay, like KEY_HOLD_MS is supposed to.

Nothing seems to control the actual held-key repeat rate that KEY_REPEAT_MS is supposed to control. It seems to use the hardcoded (init.h) 150ms value.

Controls broken

Since commit 0d7410f the controls in fortress mode are broken. Pressing Left makes the view go SW. Right -> SO. Up -> NW. Down -> NO. R changes the Layout etc. Controls in the menus work fine. I didn't test adventure mode.

Mouse moving renders symbols artifacted.

Broken command-line world creation in Ubuntu 9

When trying to generate worlds through the command-line features (eg ./df -gen 1), the latest version now gives me a popup GL error:

GPU unable to accomodate texture catalog. Retry without graphical tiles, update your drivers, or better yet update your GPU.

And also outputs to stdout:

GPU does not support non-power-of-two textures, using 2048x2048 catalog.

World generation does not take place.

Trouble with "Key Repeat"

music_and_sound_openal.cpp: init_openal fails on 64 bit linux

32 bit library is installed in /usr/lib
64 bit library is installed in /usr/lib64

the code seems to load the default one, which is in lib64

file /usr/lib64/libopenal.so.1.12.854
/usr/lib64/libopenal.so.1.12.854: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, not stripped

file /usr/lib/libopenal.so.1.12.854
/usr/lib/libopenal.so.1.12.854: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, not stripped

the game runs, but sound is missing. the other 32bit .so's seem to work without a problem.

Exiting menus

Pressing spacebar to to exit a menu also causes the game to pause/unpause as if spacebar were pressed in-game.

GRID and FULLGRID

GRID:xx:yy controls both the windowed grid size and the fullscreen grid size. FULLGRID:xx:yy seems to do nothing.

This matters when the fullscreen font is different than the windowed font. I use the curses_640x300.png (8x12) for fullscreen, and a doubled version of that font (16x24) for windowed.

When I switch to fullscreen mode, the font changes properly, but the screen only shows the same amount that windowed mode would show. I can then use the mousewheel to zoom, which does increase the number of columns and lines displayed, eventually enough to fill the screen.

If I do zoom, then switch back to windowed mode, the window is zoomed out quite far.

Error launching df-40d13-head linux version

Files and folders in the archive were dated 08 July 2009 08:02.

I get this error when trying to start Dwarf Fortress using the df script:

./dwarfort.exe: ./libs/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by ./libs/libgraphics.so)

The unmodified 40d13 version launched ok on my system.

Segfault on playing movie

6408ea2 commit.
If [INTRO:ON] is set, immediately after playing the first "Beyond quality" movie I receive this:
./df: line 12: 2659 Segmentation fault ./dwarfort.exe $*

Tile borders have wrong value

Currently, tile borders are all set to black. The should be set to whatever color the pixel immediately inside has, to avoid black borders on tiles when zooming.

Symbol lookup error

Throws "./dwarfort.exe: symbol lookup error: ./libs/libgraphics.so: undefined symbol: _ZN15enabler_inputstC2Ev" to terminal and refuses to start.
