Galactica

A face recognition attendance software wherein you can create an account, login, enter your details, register and get your attendance marked in a CSV file just by turning your camera on! This project was built using Python to handle most functions. The database was handled by MySQL.

Tools used:

A. Python Libraries:

1. OpenCV (for face recognition)
2. PIL (Python Image Library)
3. tkinter (for GUI)
4. mysql.connector (to access MySQL databases)
5. NumPy (to convert the read image to uint8 array)
6. datetime (to acquire the student check in date and time)

B. MySQL (for database handling)

C. Haar Cascade (an Object Detection Algorithm used to identify faces in an image or a real time video)
