rtg_demo's Introduction

RTG_Demo

This is the source code for Road to Galaxy's Demo and we plan on continuing this repo even after the Demo simply to test out ideas like GitHub actions on the repo, Continuous Integration with Automated tests, Test-Driven Development and likely more. People can look at this mess and think about ways to optimize it with pull requests always being welcome.

rtg_demo's Issues

Debug Menu

A menu to see information like Progression state, Enemy Stats, and most Data that the player won't or shouldn't see, but we should see to check if everything is working.

Camera Improvements

The camera is not used in the best way, so changing target and adjusting animations would be best. This is more of a note to self to actual make the changes.
In short, make the camera feel better to use and follow in a much smoother manner.

Hermit Purple's wall outline always active

The wall outline for Hermit Purple's A3 is always active, even when the stand isn't on. This is likely caused by the URP script always being active, but further investigation is needed.

Ultimates

Even though they won't be used, we should figure out how to add cutscene like ultimates.

Improve Player Feel

  • Adjust the camera
  • Mouse based camera instead of keyboard
  • Better feeling movement
  • Make standless animations have more impact

Dio AI

Checking if Dio works as intended before play testing. Checking things like:

  • Dio Shift Phases Properly
  • Dio performs all offensive behaviours
  • Dio performs all defensive behaviours
  • Dio timestops
  • Dio's knives work
  • Dio pursues player
  • Dio doesn't accidently hurts himself (most of the time)

Settings Menu

Some settings that people might want to change:

  • Camera sensitivity and speed
  • Controller bindings
  • Camera shake
  • Screen aspect ratio
  • Full screen

Performance And Size

Using Unity's profiling and benchmarking tools, get a gauge of the performance of a build and see if we can improve said performance.

Hitboxes not doing damage

Hit boxes are very inconsistent, with the player's attacks not always hitting or sometimes not even doing damage.

Test-Driven Development

Look into using Unity's testing framework and add some smoke tests to speed up development.
