wp-job-openings's Issues

Shortcodes used, filter gone

Hello, short question for shortcodes. If I use the following shortcode, the filter area is not shown. Only search is enabled. Is it possible to enable also the other filter categories?

[awsmjobs specs="job-type:9 10"]

Would be great to hear from you!
Best regards
Andreas

How to add only filters in widgets?

How can i add only filters area in widgets?
so i can put it in the footer section
there is no space to list any job there
and when anyone searches or choose spec it must take him to the listing page

Settings for Expiration Timezone

Currently the expiration timezone is set as UTC. Add settings for Expiration Timezone to manage the time with local timezone rather than UTC.

Update Job Listing hook "before_awsm_jobs_listing_right_col_content"

Issue

  1. "before_awsm_jobs_listing_right_col_content" this hook has certain limitations to add new features for the job listings.

Suggestions

  1. Add arguments to the hook.

    File : wp-job-openings/inc/templates/job-openings/main.php
    Example : do_action( 'before_awsm_jobs_listing_right_col_content', $shortcode_atts );

Notifications settings error handling issues

In notifications settings, when toggled, settings are in a hidden state, and if any of the required settings are not filled, the button will be prevented from submitting. But since this error is invisible to the user, the user may get confused.

Steps to Replicate

  • Go to Settings > Notifications > General > Application Received - Admin Notification.
  • Remove the 'To' field and toggle the 'Application Received - Applicant Notification' settings.
  • Click the 'Save' button.

Expected Behavior

The user must be informed about this error since this issue can happen when the user accidentally removes any required field. The user may get confused since the error is not visible to the user.

Is it possible to override the form.php template?

I'd like to wrap the job description and form in columns.
I was thinking if I recreated the single-job/form.php structure in my child themes wp-job-openings folder it would override that template, but it does not appear to work.

Unable to translate application forms using WPML

Situation

Hey, our client got the Pro Pack and is using Job Openings together with WPML. Everything is up-to-date. It works in regard of open jobs. However I couldn't find an option to properly translate our application forms.

Let's imagine system language is German (DE). I've got an English (EN) form called "Application Form EN" and want to have it translated to German as "Application Form DE".

What happens

  • Forms lists are missing WPML's flags + translation indicators, so I can't translate nor see its status/language
  • Inside the forms editor there are translation options. I can set the language to EN. I now add a DE translation and try to translate, but
    a) Only the title is translatable (I've called it "Application Form DE")
    b) WPML complains that this form is translated by WPML, if I continue to edit it independendtly (which I don't, it's the translation editor) the translation would break, it suggests to abort
    c) The translated form ("Application Form DE") doesn't show up in the forms list
  • I needed to duplicate the EN form to DE and set the language to DE, then rename all fields
  • Of course I couldn't link it to the EN form.
  • In lists as well as the form chooser dropdown inside the jobs editor, any forms are treated like they were available in the system language, example:
    • For DE language Jobs and in lists I can see all the forms, including those set to other languages.
    • For EN Jobs, not the system language, I can't choose any forms but the default "WP Job Openings Application Form" (the auto generated form).

It should work out of the box and be less complicated.

Solvable?

But maybe I've overlooked something?
I've enabled translation of these post types:

  • awsm_job_openings –> Translatable
  • awsm_job_form –> Translatable

And these custom fields:

  • awsm_pro_application_form

My temporary workaround: Keep the enforced default form for EN job offers, select the manually generated DE one for DE job offers. But that's not what we bought the Pro Pack for …

Accents don't work in the Specification fields

For the job edit screen and the settings, accents don't work when typed in the job specification fields.

For example: The Spanish accent ó in comó will appear as com´o, which is incorrect.

how customize submit

I have purchased the plugin for $199 . How modify the on submit button to close tab in browser Looking for the code

reCAPTCHA v3 Support

Currently, WP Job Openings only supports reCAPTCHA v2. Add support for v3 with an option (Form > reCAPTCHA) to control the reCAPTCHA type.

UX issues in Recent Jobs Widget

The recent jobs widget is inheriting some styles from the list view styles, resulting in white background and spacing issues. This may cause issues with some themes, especially dark themes, resulting in a bad user experience. Yes, it is possible to change this via CSS. But, for a better UX, is it better to restrict these styles to list view only?
