FYI, it works on the older FPGA Developer AMI - 1.3.4-40257ab5-6688-4c95-97d1-e251a40fd1fc-ami-0219ae2a33fd94395.4 (ami-5304572a) AMI.

Below is a compatibility table describing the mapping of developer kit version to AMI version:

The current aws-fpga is version v1.3.6, therefore, please use AMI version v1.3.5.

Ah, thanks. It might be nice to mention that in the Getting Started readmes, https://github.com/aws/aws-fpga/blob/master/SDAccel/README.md, so other people don't get confused. :)
