Which AMI are you using on the t2.micro? what version of node and npm did you install?

I'm using Amazon Linux AMI 2017.09.0.20170930 x86_64 HVM GP2. node -v returns v4.4.5 , npm -v returns 2.15.5

ok, from Readme.md:
"Install npm >3 and node >6."
It sounds like the problem is a node/npm version issue, we have seen problems before with older versions of node/npm. could you upgrade/change to node 6 and see if the problem persists?

I guess I celebrated too early. I'm still getting the same issue, but now I have npm version 3.10.10 and node version 6.11.4. It still says that it failed at the build script 'make website -B'

did you delete node_modules before you tried again?
is it the same error?
could you try with npm version 5>=?
On my dev machine i have npm version 5 so maybe that is the true dependency
