Since my phone doesn't have a gyroscope, I was wondering if it would be possible to implement a way to control head motion in 180°/360° videos with a paired mouse.

How i can hide control panel :)

I slotted in my phone into the VR headset that I have, which specifically has a hole on the right side for an audio jack plug in - and does not have such a hole on the left side.

So I turn on a video, but then notice that it is upside down. I look into the settings and it does not:

1. no auto orient
2. no settings allow me to manually flip the image

If I turn the phone to face the other way, then I won't be able to plug in my headphones.

Please advice how can I overcome this issue.

Video frame extends past the edge of the display. You can see this on the right side of the provided screenshot. This is the case with all videos I have tried.

These are SBS VR180° videos with the settings set accordingly. There appears to be no way to adjust for this issue in the application.

My device is an Essential PH-1.

I think this can be played around by modifying the manifest as per googlevr/gvr-android-sdk#295 - but the simplest way around this might just be to make two versions, each with a slightly different manifest, one for cardboard, and one for daydream.

Add the app to fdroid.

I recently downloaded and installed HeadVR on my Android Nokia 6.1 device, but upon booting it up, the app cannot seem to find the files I've loaded on to my phone (mp4 and avi files). I loaded them onto my SD card, but also onto my internal storage.

On the main screen in the Browse Tab, I have 4 default favorites, all claiming to be empty (Download, Movies, Music, Podcasts), and just below it theres 'Storages' which perpetually says "Loading..."

Oddly enough, when I connected the phone via usb to my PC, I was able to browse and play files on my PC, after I logged in with my password via the phone. This appeared right below 'Storages' in 'Local Network'.

How can I make the app find my files on my phone?

I'd like to use HeadVR to view a live RTSP stream. It works great, but there is a few seconds delay. I believe if network caching parameters were exposed maybe this issue could be improved. By reducing network caching on my PC it does appear to help reduce the latency. I'm not sure how this option gets exposed on Android. I believe there is a setting for this in the regular Android app.

I would just like to say - this is a fantastic project.
The ability to play video files and YouTube videos in a CardboarVR headset using free (as in freedom) software an amazing thing.

If there's a way to support this project (other than spreading the word) - I'd love to know.
Maybe a LiberaPay account where we could donate to help keep up the development?

You could add the option to see a normal video in VR mode to be able to use the sensors

Is there a way to zoom out like in original vlc? I have a video which i can zoom in and zoom out in vanilla vlc, but when I play with this player, i get zoomed in video where everything is too close. I played around with every setting, but couldn't done it.

I am facing video not playing properly issue while playing 360 videos. I have attached the Screenshot of the video. Video is converged at one point.

could you release the app on Oculus store?
