Thanks for the suggestion. I think this is unnecessary. The md encourages you to use the markdown preview. This teaches you

• how to use the command palette
• that there is a markdown preview

And then you end up with both the code and preview as suggested.

I think we should keep it the way it currently is. If anything, maybe make the call to use markdown preview its own bullet point.

The markdown preview is prettier, but I agree with @benogle. We really wanted to let people know about the command palette and the existence of markdown preview, which is why kept it plain text. In the future we will probably have a cleaner, more interactive onboarding experience.

I guess this shows just what happened : I had (up until now) not even seen the entire section about the markdown preview from the palette. Both lighttable and sublime have a palette and it isn't a new thing to me, so I skipped directly to point 3 and never looked back.

Maybe it could benefit from being two separate points,
2. If you only remember ... cmd-shift-p
3. Try it now [preview]

But, with a direct call to action (even if hidden in a large paragraph of text) it makes sense to not show it by default then!
