👋 Hi, I’m Alex Saramet

I am an IT professional with a passion for networking, Linux, and cybersecurity. Currently, I am on a journey to explore more about networking and security.

Experience

  • Linux system administration
  • Python, C, and a bit of Haskell programming
  • Web programming with Angular
  • Cisco and Aruba network administration

During my experience with Linux system administration, I have worked on various projects such as High Performance Cluster (HPC) system administration, automating deployment of web servers using Ansible and Docker, developing a wiki web page with Angular as frontend, and implementing security measures to protect against cyber attacks.

With Cisco and Aruba network administration, I have gained hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting switches, routers, and wireless access points.

Education

  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • CS50 programming certified
  • Certified CompTIA Systems Support Specialist

Certifications

Projects

  • Linux modulefiles - a collection of modulefiles and scripts for modules implementation on Linux machines.
  • Networking with Ansible - a collection of Ansible inventories, playbooks, and tools designed to simplify network administration.
  • Esslingen HPC Wiki - a wiki page, which serves as a central source of information for users of Esslingen University of Applied Sciences on bwUniCluster and an older bwGRiD Hight Performance Computing (HPC) Clusters.
  • Dockerimage: OpenFOAM-2.4.x - a Docker image for OpenFOAM 2.4.x.
  • Angular HPC statistics webapp - a webapp for processing and displaying HPC collected data with Angular and Angular-Google-Charts.

Interests

In my free time, I enjoy BJJ, movies, and programming.

Next Steps

My next goal is to further develop my networking skills and tackle more cybersecurity challenges, such as exploring more about penetration testing and hacking by practicing on sites like HackTheBox.
