Wow. Thanks for the finding. I have the 3D-tool as default and it still happens as you described.

On top of that, a few days ago I discovered a couple of (similarish) problems that appear in scene view: Sometimes the manipulator is drawn on the screen, when the tool is not active. Another one is related to the "lock" feature being broken. (It is broken in more ways than one and always has been. A complete fix requires a format change and not necessarily an easy one but some can be fixed in the viewers.)

I'll dig into these ones too, the behavior is not in the 3D-tool itself or not at least entirely in the MoveScaleRotate...tools. It is in the structure of the viewers and how they handle mousePressed() and mouseDragged().

I might like to see an outline before we go too deep here. I don't want you to end up having to re-write three times, like happened with the viewManipulation project.
