Crash on DX11, 2.0 under certain specific conditions

I'm using 2.0 RC3, and this doesn't seem to happen on dx9, only dx11. I haven't exactly pinpointed the conditions that trigger it but I was able to reproduce the crash fairly consistently with the following steps:

  1. Join a friend's party (or use an alt account), and enter Fractals of the Mists (I entered from Mistlock Observatory, assuming entering from LA makes no difference)
  2. Go inside a fractal (I think any would work, but you need one where it's fast to generate a combat event from spawn; I used the lava river in Underground Facility to test)
  3. Close the game, leaving your friend alone in the fractal
  4. Reopen the game, then as fast as possible, login to your character, enter the fractal, and generate a combat event (jump in the lava river) -> crash

It seems that if you don't do it fast enough the crash won't happen. Also I couldn't trigger it in the open world, not sure how fractals are related but that's the only place I've had this happen.

Here's a crash log. Note I was using a couple more arcdps addons, but this happened with just SCT, too.

Crash with skill icons enabled

My game will crash if I enable skill icons. I have wiped the icons directory as well reinstalling the addon (via addon manager) and it does not solve the issue.

In PVP, Raid,Fractal, maps, SCT will have bugs that will cause the game to end,
Is the array too small, overflow, or not the normal destruction of the release?

OpenSSL dependency?

I don't know why but the latest RC build requires OpenSSL libraries libcrypto-1_1-x64.dll and libssl-1_1-x64.dll, and if they are not found in your system, ArcDPS reports failure to load SCT with error code 126.

It seems to happen both on dx9 and dx11. The library works fine as far as I've tested if the dlls are provided.

Is this a real dependency, or maybe a build mishap?

SCT Width & Heigh flicker between 0 and 1

Like the title suggest, my GW2 SCT for some reason not show up and when I check the "Scroll Area" option I notice that the Width & Heigh flicker between 0 and 1 constantly.

When I check the sct.ini

it clearly state that the Width = 40.000000 and Height = 260.000000

well it happening after April 19 2022 update, not sure maybe required arcdps update or it come from the dll itself.

XP and Karma

Similar to #16, would it be possible for SCT to have options to display the XP and Karma that gain usually pops up.

When using the setting in ARCDPS to remove the built in scrolling text, all visibility is lost.

Glitched font?

Cant get it working right on dx11 with RC2

On a clean instal with all default settings i get random pixels scrolling down, they dont seem to be numbers though

I tried messing with font size and the box width and all kind of stuff. But it mostly just disappears all together then.

Tried clean instal of arcdps and sct aswell and all settings default but nothing.
If i tick the box for skill icons they will show up though, but no text or numbers

Crashes dx11, since EoD launch

Since EoD launched, I have been unable to use SCT with dx11 without experiencing crashes. Crashes consistantly happen whenever in combat, usually within SCT showing the first few messages. I have tried a fresh install both updating/downgrading versions, but with no luck.

Current versions:
GW2: dx11 beta, March 15th update
Arcdps: 20220315.173005-415-x64
SCT: 2.0-RC3

bug submit

Since I am a Chinese server, I made a program to get all the skill pictures, and made the skill.ini file and translated lang.ini

Two bugs were found in use

  1. Tooltip does not display Chinese properly. The character will change to "?"

  2. Can't end the game normally, the game program has no response for a long time, so it can only be forced to end it, and there is no file found in the "icons" folder that has been downloaded,and sct.log is not have log

Skill icon thread delays game closing

When the game wants to close it has to wait for skill icon loading thread to end. This can take a very long time when API is not reachable and requested skill ids stacked up.

Game completely freezing at random using SCT

It randomly happens when going into combat. I am not sure if it's a certain skill icon that pops up that causes it, but each time I go to enter combat.. about a second later.. my game's screen just freeze frames. I can still move my cursor around and if I right click and try to move my camera my cursor disappears, but the image on screen stays the same. I have to Alt F4 out of my game and restart it. Usually then after I restart it I'm good for a little while, and it doesn't do it for quite some time.

I am unsure why it is happening. If it helps I am using the latest version of SCT, but I am using arcdps with suppress combat text enabled.

There is no crash log generated because of this as the game is completely froze forcing me to close the client via task manager.

Installed via Addon Manager - Not Working

I installed this alongside ArcDPS, and a few other arcdps plugins, but it seems it is not working. At least i don't get the scrolling text when fighting. I checked if it is enabled in its options, and it is.

Just now, I checked the scroll areas, and both incoming events and outgoing events seem to flicker WILDLY between 0 and 1 on both width and height, which i guess means it might actually be "showing" what it is intended to, but be subpixel in size...

Nothing happens

Running GW2 with DX11 Beta. I have installed SCT using the addon manager. Nothing happens once installed. The menu information appears but there is not SCT displayed only the default ingame one. I noticed it is also not possible to adjust the SCT text scroll area at all and it defaults to 0.0.

I turned off DX11 Beta and it worked. I then changed back to DX11 and it caused the game to shut down every time I entered combat. I then had to remove SCT entirely and everything went back to normal sans SCT of course

Condition icons not showing

Hi there,

I'm missing those, also it seems like I see a lot of placeholders in my skill icons folder, see here: https://i.gyazo.com/6c013ef493c16f382af2d285611025bd.png

I tried deleting all icons and try to re-download them, but still the same result.

New version not loading

As title says, the new version isn't loading or showing at arcdps, both are updated. The older versions works normally and creates the sct folder, but still have the damage/heal bug, meanwhile the new version doesn't seem to load at all ingame and isn't creating the sct folder.

Crashing with new Guild Wars 2 Build

arcdps was causing crashing following the Guildwars 2 update on 4/29/2021. Updated arcdps to 4/29 build and no change.

Removed SCT and the crashes stopped.

Skill Icons

Hi,

Ty for your patch, this work fine :)

I have a question about skills icons ... There is not all skill icons (for exemple, "Sword of Justice" on the guard), is it normal?

And i wan't to help you to add translate in french, how can i help you for this? :)

Any way to add condition images ?

Condi numbers with just color seemed bad to me , any way to add condi images next to them (in game sct settings format seems ok , is it about api , do i need to manually add them with right skill id s ?)

Combo Finishers

SCT seems to ignore combo finishers. Would be nice to have combo finishers displayed in some way even when ArcDPS has floating combat text disabled.

Not being able to turn off some floaters (missing language key)

I'm not able to turn off some of the floaters like "Invulnerable!" on Outgoing for example, because of "missing language key", didn't really bother me at first but with the newest arc update today its giving me floaters for regenerating endurance or when gaining luck lol, which makes the UI kinda cluttered.

Support for DX 11?

How would we be able to load the DLL module when opting into the DX11 beta currently? ArcDPS works fine there when renamed to d3d11.dll, but it looks like just renaming the sct's DLL won't work. Thanks!

Input character bug

Crash when backspacing through template

First off, just want to say thank you for creating such an amazing mod. The options and templating language features are truly ๐Ÿ’ฏ!

I have noticed when tweaking in options that whenever I backspace through something like [col=FFFFFF]%v[/col] to [%v[/col], the game client will crash. Upon restarting, I lose a lot of my configuration.

I wonder if this is a bug in the template evaluation logic?

Not working since EoD

Thought it had something to do with the API not reachable.
But they re-enabled the API, but I still have errors that spells can't be fetched.

I have only one monitor and when I alt+tab I can't not go back to the game. I have to reboot the whole PC.

DirectX11 crash

Maybe way too early to worry about this but the plugin crashes the game in d3d11 mode the moment an attack lands.

Scrolling text is slightly blurry in 1440p

I just wanted to let you know that it feels like the scrolling text is a little blurry when I'm playing in 1440p. I tried to change some settings around but I couldn't find a way to fix it. I am running d912pxy + reshade as well, if that matters. My rig is a 1440p 165Hz screen powered by a RTX 2070 Super and a Ryzen 3900X. Not sure what further info I can provide, but I'd be happy to help in debugging the issue! I will attach an image later if necessary.

profession option

Hi i love this add on. I only installed it last week but already enjoying it. I see that you have a professon color template so you are able to pull the profession of the target/enemy.

Could you add a %p option (for profesion, eg thief, guardian, warrior etc) so we can see what class is attacking us or we are hitting?
I only play wvw and the %n option is not that useful for me. The class is much more useful than seeing the WvW name.

1.After enabling the skill icon, the game client cannot be closed normally,Will be blocked when the exit button is clicked
2.and Sometimes, the client ends the game for no reason,
bug 2 It also existed in version 1.1,and bug1 is new.
Maybe your image download code needs more reasonable modification

SCT not working after newest ARC DPS Update?
