Look, I get that some people actually like peerDependencies (I don't - I think they're an anti-pattern). But if you're requiring async in your code (and you are), then it is a dependency, and it should be the responsibility of this module to include it in the dependency tree and not the consumer of this module. I can only assume the reason for this is to be able to list this as having "no dependencies," but all you're doing is dooming consumers to a bad experience when they are unable to install this because they haven't, first, installed async (and an outdated version no less). If you really care about having "no dependencies" (and I really have no idea why you would), then you should just lift the async.auto implementation (or whatever methods you are using) from the async source and throw it in here. It's open source; there's nothing wrong with that.
