Quote-Test

NOTE: This website is still in early development stages. Many features may be subject to change in the future

This website is a website made for studying quotes, either from a premade library of quotes or from your own. This website was originally made to study Shakespeare quotes in our English class.

How to use

To start a quote test, you can either type in your quotes or use the premade quotes we made.

The quote test is started by pressing Start Quote Test.
Once the quote test has started, fill out the missing words and then press Submit Quote Test.
(For added challenge, the intensity of words removed from each quote can be changed in the options menu.)

Collections

Collections of quotes can be saved under the My quotes section for later use.

Collections may also be exported as text, so that they can be shared and imported by others

Fix grammatical errors

Fix grammatical errors in act 4 Scene 2/3

Add a tapability for mobile users on wrong answers

Maybe consider adding the ability for mobile users to tap the wrong answer on the quote test results and that would reveal the correct word. At the moment having the tool type does not help mobile users

Problem with quotes in shakespeare's literature

Words that appear in certain quotes in King Lear appear to be shortened (for example, "in" being replaced with "i'"). Both words are passable but this is not accounted for in code, where only one form is acceptable.

Add ability to save current quotes

Add the ability to save the current quotes so you can have your personal quotes saved (Can be saved on LocalStorage)

Make the layout more phone friendly

Especially on the quote-test we have a problem with the menu being too small and people needing to zoom in to answer.

Adding passcodes to unlock certain premade quotes.

A suggestion is that we can add passcodes where certain premade quotes can be accessed by people.

Also with Passcodes we can have it so a premade quote can be unlocked also with a URL parameter.

ie. "quotes.arisamiga.rocks/index.html?register=passcode"

Add timer ability on settings

Make it so a user has to finish the quotes a specified amount of time. Countdown will be visible on the actual quote test

Quote screen completely locks when an empty quote is started

the quote screen completely freezes, probably due to a while loop

Parsing issues on text with newline inside

Using this test text on one quote field appears to cause issues with parsing. This seems to be an issue regarding how we currently handle newlines given by the user in parsing.

Note the ##BR## Flag should never be shown to the user

Add graph to track performance over time.

We can add a graph so people can see their performance over time with answers they have gotten wrong.

Notify user if they have manually went to quoteTest.html without the query

Add a message like "Please make sure you submit your quotes."

And a go back button so it doesn't crash.

Seperate quoteHandle.js to two files

It might be helpful to consider using two separate files for quoteHandle.js instead of just one. Currently, we are checking the URL of the current page and utilizing the same file. However, due to the increasing file size, it would be beneficial to split it into two separate files.

Adding a "Don't Ask Again" Checkbox on Complete anyway popup

Adding a "Don't Ask Again" checkbox to the "Are You Sure" button can help users complete quote tests faster by skipping the confirmation step.
