Hi,

TV Samsung LE40C650L1WXBT. Installation went OK, but during the widget start-up TV freezes. The only way further is to power-off from remote. What can I try to troubleshoot the problem or provide additional info? Thank you.

I think searching would be faster if it only launched search results once we click "Enter" instead of the search being interactive (after a new letter is typed).

Hi,

Many videos do not play on oldtube since a message is displayed saying they can only be played by going to youtube.com page. I think this is due to restrictions from companies like Vevo, etc. that block playing from third-party apps.

I am able to play fine if I open the browser on my samsung and navigate to the youtube.com page.
Is there any solution to this problem?

I don't think there is something that can be done but I will go ahead to mention it just to be sure.
Since most music videos on youtube are published by VEVO, I have noticed that none of them are playable on oldtube.

There might be some kind of licensing which blocks it being played on a HTML type player....

Is any chanche to see VEVO video? Thanks!!!!

Hi,

Each time I fast forward or rewind on a video I can hear the audio fine and know it has fast forwarded but the youtube screen is stuck with a blue background and circling waiting icon in the center.

The workaround is to pause and press play and then it gets going.

I haven't worked out the trigger but at least when I turn of the TV when I relaunch oldtube on SmartTV I notice it has forgotten about my Youtube login and ask again to authenticate via google device page.

When I start a video I get

Hi Ariel, thank you for the oldtube widget. I have successfully loaded it on to my Samsung BluRay.

I would like to experiment with it, but the github repo only seems to contain the minified bundle in app/index.js, and not the original source files. Are you willing to add the source files too?

Hi firts of all I would say you thanks for sharing your application with us. Great Job :)

I've installed your application inside my UE40ES6100W. Few seconds (may be 30 or 40) later after start to playing a video it hangs and don't start to play again since I get back and enter again (it starts from the init).

My internet connection is a little bit unestable, could be the app don't start buffering after loose the connection? I haven't this problems with other apps such netflix or the old youtube app.

Are there some way to reproduce this behaivour on a computer to debug it?

Is something similar available for Amazon prime?

To avoid over usage of your API Account a simple how-to about generating API-key and OAuth 2.0 credentials would help, like:

1. one needs to create a google account
2. activate developer access
3. enable YouTube Data API v3 and generate credentials
4. then replace the values of youTubeApiKey oAuthClientId oAuthClientSecret in src/js/config.js

Except for the obvious statistical purpose of the apps usage, if someone do not want to share this information, a few comments about how the GA code can be removed would be nice.

After login, when I login to my youtube account and navigate to the Favorites tab on Oldtube, I get a parsing error.

Just installed the app. The API has hit the limit. Is it possible to put my own API Google key?

I have just installed oldtube on my Samsung UE40EH5450. It seems that I can search videos in application, but none of them starts. TV screen remains black or sometimes there is one blue line at the bottom of screen.

Any idea how to fix it?

I tried both own built, and the one available over oldtube.us none of them started on my D5500, in the 4.5 TV Emulator with webinspector mode i see, which may be an indicator

I believe there is no way to sign in (at least on my TV-> UE40ES6100 ). I suppose it is the My Youtube tab but I can't access it with any button. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

Is it possible to truncate the text associated to each video on the search page?
Sometimes it's quite large and forces users unnecessary scrolling on the page. It also seems to slowdown the scrolling too.
