Youtube Volume Scroll

Browser Extension that enable scrolling mousewheel to control volume on Youtube and Youtube Music

Features

★ Use mousewheel on the video to change the volume

★ Display the new volume for 1 second on the video when changing volume

★ Customizable options in the extension settings (with light / dark mode support)

★ Remember volume even in incognito mode

★ Works on youtube.com and music.youtube.com

★ Works in embedded videos (Like in Reddit, WhatsApp, etc.)

★ Automatically blocks the "Continue watching?" popup that appears after some time

Build it yourself

Requires Node.js and npm

# Clone the repo and cd to it
git clone https://github.com/Araxeus/Youtube-Volume-Scroll.git

cd Youtube-Volume-Scroll

# Install build dependencies
bun install

# Build the extension
bun b

The resulting unsigned xpi/zip file will be in the web-ext-artifacts folder.

Known Issues

To work in incognito, permission needs to be explicitly set in the extension settings
If you experience embedded videos in incognito mode not saving volume:
disable Block third-party cookies in incognito (1/2)

Not working on Opera

I know there isn't an specific version for Opera but the Chrome one doesn't work for it.

I recently change from one to the other and I was used to this addon but I seems like it doesn't work on Opera.
Is there any way to make it work? It looks like there is not an equivalent for the browser neither so . . .

Extension doesn't work when starting from a channel page that has an intro

Steps to reproduce:

open a channel in a new tab or go to a channel address (for example https://www.youtube.com/c/ProjectFarm)
navigate to any video from there

On-Off Button to choose whether to remember volume

On-Off Button to choose whether to remember volume.
With the option to set default volume when video starts if we choose Off.

Can't modify volume when the song/video is in a playlist..

When you try to modify the volume with your scrollwheel on a video/song that is in a playlist extension doesn't work.

Request: Add option to modify rate of volume change

I'd like to be able to radically change the volume with only a scroll or two but I find the default setting requires far more scrolling than I am comfortable with. I couldn't find any way to change this (no config?) so I'm requesting this as a feature. Thanks!

Only adjust volume when right click is held

Enhancer for Youtube has this option where volume adjustments can be made to only take effect when the right click button is held down when the scroll wheel is used. Otherwise the scroll wheel will behave normally and allow scrolling the page. I think this would be a good feature for this extension as well.

Doesn't block video paused continue watching popup

Title. I'll leave my music playlist on while playing a game, and the popup will stop my playlist. I am on Windows 10 using the latest version of Edge.

Video speed control prompt is not displayed

With the latest version update, I found the video speed control prompt text is not displayed with native hud. hope you can fix this soon.
