commutelog's Issues

Add location on start/end of commute

Currently commutes don't show their first or last location update on the map. I'm not sure if this is because the location query excludes them due to the date/time being just outside the window or something else, but I'd prefer if the map showed a location that showed the exact time the commute began and ended.

Delete button flashes and gets all glitchy

I don't know what is causing this but I think it has to do with the timer I added that reloads the active commute's row to keep the time up to date. I think it's not getting invalidated correctly or something.

Add the ability to pause a commute

Currently you can only End a commute and then start a new one. Sometimes it’s useful to be able to pause the time tracking for a commute, like when you stop for coffee or an errand mid-commute.

I’d think the pause button could go up top right next to the end button (and not be there at all when there’s no active commute). I could also see just putting the pause button on the details view of an active commute.

The commute model would need to have some way of tracking pause duration since it currently calculates commute duration by measuring the difference between the commutes start and end.

It’d be nice if location tracking was turned off while paused and a temporary region was setup at the current location so that when the user exits that region it automatically resumes the commute.

Make distance filter configurable

Currently it’s hard-coded, it’s be nice if you could change it. Probably globally and on the same screen as the start/end location and schedule configuration happens (#6). But I could also see it being on the details of an active commute 🤔
