I have a folder full of movies to rename, it would be awesome if i could open 
the folder, set the options, click rename and have it start going through and 
processing all the files for me.

logiciel ou de la base de donnée ??

la (les) petite évol. du jour ;)

ajouter la possibilité de créer un pattern d'affichage/renommage du fichier : 
je m'explique.

1.il peut être utile parfois de tronquer les information => ajouter cette 
possibilité avec un schéma du style <t>[0-50] pour les 50 premiers caractères

2.certaine personne supprime le terme (le, la, les, l') du début des titres 
afin de pouvoir s'y retrouver dans leurs dossiers. exemple : 'Le petit chaperon 
rouge' devient 'Petit chaperon rouge, Le'

dans le treeview des films, j'ai renommé 50%
j'ai quitté l'app puis relancé et les icônes m'indiquant les fichiers 
renommés ont disparus (pas très pratique ;) )

there are movies which are splitted into 2 (or more) parts, so the are, for 
example, 2 files:

Movie Title, Part 1.avi
Movie Title, Part 2.avi

CD1, CD2, ... is sometimes used instead of Part 1, 2, ...

my suggestion is to add auto-detection of movie parts, and automatically add it 
at the end of renamed movie.

Hi.

I would like to see the option for creating a folder in the same fashion that 
the filename is created.

e.g

Input: D:\Movies\A Knight's Tale).avi
Folder Format: <a1>
File Format: <t> (<y>)
Result: D:\Movies\Heath Ledger\A Knight's Tale (2001).avi

If the format options could be used for the directories, users could sort and 
rename by genre, actor/actress, year etc.

I have a problem with movies that have same name in different years, for 
example the title "The Langoliers" by Stephen King, it's impossible to find. 
You can find in this link http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112040/. Thats possible 
to put a box to input IMDB link?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
J'ai voulu mettre à jour quelques films et MovieRenamer n'était plus capable 
de trouver les films, la recherche se lance mais rien ne se passe.. pas de Nfo, 
de jaquettes ...rien ne s'affiche à part la recherche qui tourne dans le 
vide... au bout d'un certain temps, MovieRenamer affiche "aucun résultat 
trouvé".
J'ai fait le test avec plusieurs noms de fichiers ... y compris des noms de 
films très simples.
J'ai effectué la MAJ vers la version 1.3.3 mais j'ai le même résultat.
De plus le log n'est pas très parlant.

Je suis sous Windows7 et il est à préciser que jusqu'à présent cette 
application fonctionnait à merveille.
Autre information, aucune modification n'a été effectué sur mon OS depuis un 
moment.

1) in Settings/Rename, define the format as : <t> (<y>)_<d>_<a>_<g>
The test gives : Matrix (1999)_Andy Wachowski, Lana Wachowski_Keanu Reeves, 
Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, Gloria Foster_Action, 
Adventure, Sci-Fi.avi
2) load your file e.g. "Kingdom Of Heaven (2004).avi", the name proposed is :
Kingdom Of Heaven (2005)_Ridley Scott_Martin Hancock, Michael Sheen, Nathalie 
Cox_A Href=SectionsGenresActionActionA, A 
Href=SectionsGenresAdventureAdventureA, A Href=SectionsGenresDramaDramaA.avi

It has all the html stuf!!!

The right name should be :
Kingdom Of Heaven (2005)_Ridley Scott_Martin Hancock, Michael Sheen, Nathalie

This happens with 1.3.8 and also 1.3.9 and 1.3.9_Alpha (jar files)

ps : by the way, the test for the name puts the result in the "thumb" and not 
in the "panel" !!!

It would be nice if you could add the MPAA rating in the title like you have 
the imdb rating.  It would make it easier to find kid movies and could block 
rated R or UR movies from them.

open source code for Zeeb does this so you might be able to see how they do it 
(requires adobe air)

Using imdb.com (English) as database
Most movies with sequals have a ":" in their title. E.g. "The Lion King II: 
Simba's Pride (1998).avi"

In rename TAB add the NON substitution parameter <original filename> eg <OT>.
I do have some information in the filename from DVBViever program as I use for 
recording videos.
It has the possibility of naming files with lots of additional infos like 
channel, date. This tells me a lot about the quality of the video.

Please, please, please add additional languages for the naming. It would be 
great if one could just select any language, imdb offers.

Enhancements to make processing many files easier and less straining on the 
eyes.

I have to look up and down the screen alot, when processing lots of files, 
especially when i notice something not suggesting to the exact one i want.

To make things easier to compare quickly onscreen it would be nice if the 
program could look closer to the screenshot attached, showing the original 
filename above the Rename target filename.

Then, as well, if it had a arrow or button or something next to each of the 
possible results, i could simply click the arrow and it would do the rename all 
in one click and move on, versus, click to select it, then click to rename it.

Taking the example, if the first highlighted result is actually not the right 
result but the second result was, i could instantly ues it and move on to the 
next file by clicking the second green arrow.

Quelques petites demandes :-)

1) Edition des donnée reçue, soit pour les changer (certain film on -1 dans 
la durée), soit les rajouter (certain film n'on pas de synopsis)

2) Ajout de deux champs qui sont déjà dans le NFO en ce qui concerne les 
titre de film, pour pouvoir (ou pas) les changer
<title>Le Psy</title> 
<originaltitle>Shrink</originaltitle> (déjà present dans le formulaire)
<sorttitle>Le Psy</sorttitle>

3) Possibilité de définir l'endroit ou vont ce placer les fichier "anexe", 
Pochette, Fanart, NFO

et déjà, merci _BEAUCOUP_ pour les adaptations déjà réalisée !

J'ai l'impression que désormais pour avoir les titres en francais il faut 
obligatoirement se connecter avec un compte imdb puis dans les preferences 
choisir les titres francais.

Pourquoi ne pas proposer de saisir son login/pass dans le logiciel pour pouvoir 
se connecter automatiquement sur IMDB ?

Is it possible to limit the number of thumbnails that are downloaded? This is 
the longest process for each movie. If it was limited to, let's say 1 
thumbnail, then the renaming and adding of the thumbnail to the folder would be 
faster, especially for those that just want the first thumbnail saved.

Error dialog is hidden (probably behind loading dialog).
Need to close loading dialog before show error dialog.

je roule l'alpha 1.3.0 lorsqu'un film contient un ":"  (ex : Ice age : The 
Meltdown)l'affichage sort tout à l'envers sur Windows alors que sur *nix il 
n'y a pas de problème. Serait-il possible de considérer de remplacer le 
caractère par un simple espace ?

First of all, thanks for that programm which is simple, fast and easy to use. I 
think it could be a real alternative to xbne.

I would like to suggest that the directory creation occur only one time.
Currently, if i rename the file multiple time i got a sub diectory at each time.
I also would like the programm to be able to retrive video type and sound type 
from the file.

I can help you to do this but i do not manage to compile it on winxp with 
eclipse. if you got a procedure to do it, please tell me.

Je voudrais suggérer que la création de répertoire ne se fasse qu'une seule 
fois. Actuellement, si je renomme un fichier plusieurs fois, j'ai un sous 
répertoire à chanque fois.
je voudrais aussi que le programme soit capable de récupérer le type de video 
et le type de son du fichier.

Je peux vous aider à faire cela mais je n'arrive pas à le compiler sur winxp 
avc eclipse. si vous avez une procédure pour cela, merci de me l'indiquer.

Could you please add the actor(s) in the possible substitutions of the filename 
format:

<a1> -> The first actor

<a> -> The list of actor(s) seperated by "," (maybe limited to 3)
or ideally <an> -> The list of the 1st n actor(s) seperated by ","

This feature would bring a lot of interest in Movie Renamer.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Download .jar and use it (double click it). Works perfect for some days. 
Best program ever.
2. Now it won't start.

I tried to open it with a command line console, and saw the error "Could not 
find main class". I don't really know Java so I'm clueless since it worked just 
fine and stopped working overnight.

I'm using Movie Renamer 1.3.10, Windows 7 64 bits.

I tried reinstalling Java but no luck.

The first actor on imdb.com is Will Smith, the second is Jaden, and the third 
is Thandie.

I do not know how many of my movies have been incorrectly labelled because of 
this, I am trying to use this method to sort my movies by actor/actress.

This software is excellent but for someone like me with a large movie 
collection going through each one would take me a very long time. 

I propose the following solution.

1. Scan all movies and automatically pull in the media for the first option 
detected from IMDB.
2. User clicks rename all.
3. sqllitedb saves all transactions made so I can return to previous state.
3. report is emailed detailing all the renames.
4. User can now go back and fix any errors ( one by one. or complete rollback. )

Another nice feature would the possibility of creating folders for each movie 
as well to sort all the movies into their own directories.

Currently works nicely, but it would be nice to specify an output folder.
eg parse through a set of movie folders to rename, then output to a completed 
folder

Currently if you have a movie inside a folder, it puts the renamed one inside 
that folder instead of in the folder root.


Not the end of the world, I can move folders manually, but it would be a nice 
to have.
