elixir-quest's Issues

Most recent log entry replaces itself every time an entity moves

Current Behavior

Browser inspect element shows the most recent log entry constantly refreshing itself, once per entity movement in the region.

Expected Behavior

Entity movement has no impact on log entries. Additional log entries are appended as they come in (from death, damage, spawns) and AutoScroll hook scrolls the log window to the bottom each time. Each log entry should be sent to the temporary assigns only once with a unique ID based on its timestamp, so entries are never re-rendered afterwards.

Fixes attempted already

  • Replaced AutoScroll updated() hook with an event handler, to handle manual event pushes on each new log entry. (Didn't seem to have any effect on the issue)
  • Tried a regular assign instead of temporary_assigns for log entries (This made the issue even worse - ALL the log entries were re-rendered with each entity movement)
