How to run

create configuration file .env based on .env.example
type npm run dev on the terminal to open in development mode.

Enviroment variables

Details of each required enviroment variable.

PORT: The port in which the server process will run
DATABASE_HOST, DATABASE_NAME, DATABASE_USER_NAME, DATABASE_USER_PASSWORD: As you may guess from the name, these are the parameters used to connect the application with the database.
UNSPLASH_ACCESS_KEY, UNSPLASH_SECRET_KEY: These are optional, are the API keys for (Unsplash)[https://unsplash.com/] API, used for generating random pictures.

Add decorators support

In some parts f the code, there's being used helper function to perform some validation/assertion of attributes. The code readability could be improved by using decorators for operations like throwing an exception when objects are not found for example.

[PERFORMANCE] many connections to the db are created

The current implementation may establish many database connections when just one could be enough.

The application should deal with geospatial data using native APIs.

When it comes to using geospatial information, like GPS coordinates and areas, it would be safer and more maintainable to use the DBMS's default APIs.
