After deleting a line by "_dd, hitting p to paste has no effect, but has to be hit twice.

This affects whitespaste as well as pasta.vim

The line

return 'normal! P'

in the function

function! whitespaste#PasteBeforeCommand()
  let vim_pasta_command = s:VimPastaCommand('before')
  if vim_pasta_command != ''
    return vim_pasta_command
  endif

  return 'normal! P'
endfunction

is too naive, because P can be remapped (for example in netrw buffers).

Besides, how about only initializing the p and P mappings of Whitespaste and Pasta.vim for modifiable buffers?

That is, when I yank something, pasting it multiple times with, e.g., 2p doesn't work. It gives an:

E481: No range allowed
