When opening a backup file from JWL 14.0.2 in Library Merger 0.7.2 (either from another device using AirDrop, or from the same device using the share sheet), I get the following error:

schema version is too old. Should be 14 is 13. You might need to upgrade to a newer version of JW Library first

I think it might be a glitch in JWL to be frank, but I figured I'd report it nonetheless.

When solving merge conflicts, users may not immediately understand which of the conflicting entries belong to which side. It is stated in the help text, but finding that quickly might be hard.
A simple indicator may help: like a small „L“ on the left entry and a „R“ on the right, or simple arrows.

Is it possible TP update JWLM to enable the merging of files for elders / ministerial servants (like Instructions, Talk Outlines, or others) ?
Or is it an engineered feature ?

When i try to create a backup i see the following message. Both apple devices. JW Library version on both iOS is: 14.0.2(316115)

No error message, app just crashes. I enabled Sentry data collection, so hopefully you'll see it in the logs. I tried a few times, with and without playlists, but same result.

Though now i can’t make any new merges for my JW Library…

Hello,

since the 14.0.1 update of JWLibrary (the one with the playlists) the DB schema of *.jwlibrary is not compatible anymore with the Library Merger App.

Maybe you could look into it.

After having updated my devices to JW Library, version 14.0, I can no longer use the Library Merge app to merge my data. I get an error when trying to select a Library backup created with the updated JW Library. The error states:

“Schema version is incompatible. Should be 8 is 13. You might need to upgrade to a newer version of JW Library first”

The merger app doesn’t support version 14.1 (332186) of the JW Library app

I have IOS 16.3.1, my merger app and publication catalogue is up to date and I am using JWL 14.0.2
When I try to select a back up , I receive this message:
« schema version is too new. Should be 13 is 14. Make sure you use the latest version of the merger« 
Is it that the current Merger version is not up to date with JWL 14?

first of all thank you for providing an app for that very helpful feature.

Unfortunately after using it once the import function isn't working as before. Please note the following error:

Error while creating temporary directory: mkdir /var/folders/vb/9m3blxxs4wq9bh7m875m0n4c0000gn/T/go-jwlm1955280229: operation not permitted

I really tried to get to know the permission and grant the needed permission for the user the app is using but I couldn't solve it. Probably you know what to do or where to start analyzing. Thank you!

Wondering if there might be a solution in the works?

Some users (especially when using the app on larger devices) might want to see MergeConflicts next to each other instead of on top of each other. We might consider having an optional setting for that.

It might be helpful to see the filename or other information from where the file originates in the BackupView. It could be an optional setting. It might be even possible to extract the device name from the filename and enrich the information in that way.

Any chance we might get support for helping to automate this task on jwlibrary open/close via shortcut automations?

Receiving the following error after updating both JW Library apps on iPhone and iPad and the MergeThe version of the backup you are trying to import is not supported anymore.
Make sure to export the backup using the latest version of JW Library and Library Merger app. Running iOS 17 Public Beta 6 and iPad OS 16.6.1.

Jw app: 14.1
iOS 17.0.3
Merger: 0.7.5

The back up is created with these app versions but I get this message:

“Backup not compatible
The version of the backup you are trying to import is not supported anymore.
Make sure to export the backup using the latest version of JW Library.”

so It is not possible for me to Merge.

Im using iphone 11 on IOS 15.4. I downloaded Library Merger from app store. Download has completed. However the app does not open. I click the app, a white screen come up for a quick second and then disappears and i go back to my iphone home screen. I have jw library installed version 14.0.2

When showing the conflict it would very useful to be able to see the portion of the publication with conflict, for markings, for example. Being able to see the start and end tokens may be confusing and not easy to decide which one to keep.

It was reported that when bookmarks are merged it can happen that the wrong verse is stored

Just a note - I am beyond excited to find your app! I have asked many if they knew of a way to accomplish what your app does. None knew of a way. I am looking forward to telling others that expressed how much they wish for a way to combine their backups too! I have searched google many times looking (cautiously) for a way to go about this. Today, your app showed up at the top of my Google search results. 😊

When importing a backup stored with OneDrive, a "no such file or directory" error is returned. Could not reproduce that issue with other cloud providers yet.
