Chess-Game

A Chess Game in Java

As a part of my project in CS 242 at UIUC, I'm writing a Chess Game (and will probably execute the GUI in Swing). Emphasis is on code-style and maintainability. Feel free to go through the source files till I finish the GUI implementation.

Update 9/11: Most of the logic is complete. Check out the cool CONSOLE colors I used!

CRITICAL: Game cannot be started

Source code on master branch contains errors. Project cannot be compiled in Java 8

Please fix bugs and add in readme how to start the game.

How did you run this program on your machine?

i just pulled this repo to my local machine and am trying to run it in visual studio code but it failed, can you share what was your development environment when you created it? (operating system, ide, java jdk version, etc.)
