LexisNexis is the first information services company created on the idea of bringing end users and computers together. The story begins in Western Pennsilvania in 1956 when attorney John Horty began to exlore the use of CALR technology in support of his work on comparative hospital law at the university of Pittsburgh Health Law Center. Instead of interacting with librarian a customer would be able to have the same type of service by int eracting with a computer.
