A theme for Thunderbird that integrates with elementary's GTK theme.

elementary-thunderbird's Issues

Too much vertical spacing in foldertreeview between rows

Currently in foldertree:

  • top padding (from row-border to top of folder icon): 7px
  • bottom padding (from bottom of icon to bottom border of row): 7px

In Files:

  • top padding (from row-border to top of folder icon): 4px
  • bottom padding (from bottom of icon to bottom border of row): 6px

Tab bar background doesn't suit Thunderbird's tabs-on-top configuration

Greetings,

This is of course a matter of opinion, and the alxlit may well disagree with me, however the current tab bar background (which mimics that of elementary/granite tab bars does not suit Thunderbird's default tabs-on-top arrangement. It introduces a jarring colour change from light grey (in the toolbar) to dark grey (in the tab bar) and back to light grey (in the titlebar).

I would suggest using the same tab bar background that @zeeeeee uses in his Firefox theme (GitHub repository | Mozilla add-ons site) when tabs are left in the default tabs-on-top position, as it blends perfectly with the titlebar.Note that @zeeeeee's theme seems to detect the tab bar position, changing the tab bar background accordingly (using a similar elementary inspired or 'granite-esqu' background when tabs or moved below the toolbar).

It's unfortunate that Thunderbird has removed the option entirely to move the tabs back below the tool bar. It's not something I'd avail myself of, but it would be nice to have the option as is the case in Firefox.

Lee Hyde.

In need of thicker scroll-bars

Greetings,

The current scroll-bars are far too thin and represent a usability issue. I believe that the folks at elementary have embraced overlay scroll-bars with represent a definite usability improvement.

Alas, to the best of my knowledge neither Firefox nor Thunderbird presently support overlay scroll-bars proper (I suspect that this is not implementable via a theme, and would either need work on Mozillas end or an extension far outside the scope of this project). However, elementary-firefox appears to have implemented a reasonable facsimile of gGTK's overlay scroll-bars (see here) which would certainly be a welcome addition to elementary-thunderbird in my humble opinion.

This is again, a matter of opinion, and feel free to dismiss it (it could always be implemented as a userstyle via stylish).

Regards,

Lee Hyde.

Addressbook toolbar color

Thunderbird looks amazing with this theme, but the addressbook toolbar appears to be white. This hides the toolbar icons and doesn't go well with the entire theme. Kindly find the attached screenshot:

Debuggin theme and changing font size

Sorry, I've found this ticket the only way to connect to you.

Please, tell about tools you use to debug theme (particularly, I need change fonts sizes).
I've tried "Dom Inspector" already, but with no luck.

A slight increase in tab height?

I feel like the tab bar is just too small (almost twice slower than the toolbar section below).

I think that we should make a slight increase (5-10 pixels maybe) in the tab height.

Not compatible with Version >.38

Unfortuntately elementary-thunderbird add on is not compatible with thunderbird 45.2.0

Is there an easy way to make it compatible?

Missing icons

Hi, nice theme, but the inbox, compose, get mails icons are missing.

I restart thunderbird without any plugins or any other addons, and same issue.
Please help :)

Content of cells in threadpane overflows in neighbour cells

In case the content of a cell in the threadpane is to large compared to the available column width, the text is not clipped but instead is displayed on top of the content of the neighbouring cell.

How to reproduce: make columns small enough to force content overflow.

Double borders for spinner boxes and file dialogs

One of the later updates caused spinner boxes render with double borders again.
Examples in Preferences window:

  • Tab General, Sound file selection field
  • Tab Composition > General: Auto save timespan spinner box

Missing timeindicator

The day and week view do not display the timeindicator (red line indicating current time)

Selection border of textbox to light

The border colour of a selected textbox is currently to light compared to the colours used for other selected widgets (e.g. spinner boxes). This is for example visible in the new event window where we have both textboxes (Title and location) and spinner boxes (start/ end time).
