algoliasearch-jekyll-hyde's Issues

Search bar isn't responsive on mobile.

The search bar doesn't work on mobile. Well, it works, but you have to manually click out. Enter doesn't close the keyboard and so it makes the interaction really awful.
Example here

Can't go to result when on same page

When in page A and searching for a specific text, if page A is displayed in the results, clicking on it won't take me where I want.

This is actually because we're technically on this page already. Need to add a custom listener on those links.

Search doesn't index text in list items

I've run into this problem in my own project, and it seems like it's present in your demo too. I'm not sure how to fix it--I've tried tweaking the attributesToIndex in config.yml but that doesn't seem to do the trick.

How to replicate:

  1. Go on your demo: http://community.algolia.com/algoliasearch-jekyll-hyde/
  2. Notice you have blog posts with text in list items (example)
  3. Try searching for text in these items (eg. "Samsung had a concrete conclusion")

Algolia doesn't seem to be indexing these items.

I'd appreciate your help!
Daniel :)

3.1.6 Error

Hi there,

After cloning this theme I get ...

Please report a bug if this causes problems. Configuration file: /Users/svenpersonal/myAlgolia/_config.yml Dependency Error: Yikes! It looks like you don't have algoliasearch-jekyll or one of its dependencies installed. In order to use Jekyll as currently configured, you'll need to install this gem. The full error message from Ruby is: 'cannot load such file -- algoliasearch-jekyll' If you run into trouble, you can find helpful resources at http://jekyllrb.com/help/! jekyll 3.1.6 | Error: algoliasearch-jekyll

but I've checked that it is in the gemfile and config file as per the plugin docs and installed dependencies. Cannot get it listed as a subcommand though?

Any ideas?!

Step-by-step tutorial for newbies

I wrote a step-by-step tutorial at https://goo.gl/UWKgTu
so anyone can make use of the effort on this repo so far.
There is a lot involved in making this happen, such as using a Terminal, installing Ruby and Git.
So I've separated the tutorial into several phases involving various amounts of preparation.

  1. Test drive a demo site online.

The site is built with Jekyll and can perform text search on pre-defined text content.

  2. Get a sample theme on your local machine working with search queries.

We setup your machine with Jekyll and Ruby, then clone a fork of a famous Jekyll theme adapted with search capabilities.

  3. Edit the repo so your own posts are indexed.

We obtain API keys for a new account on the search service and use it to index new posts we add.
4. Add search features to another theme.

We deep dive into the theme to add JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.

I'm stuck on #2 on my implementation at
https://github.com/jetbloom/jetbloom.github.io

The site does not resolve publicly from my browser
https://jetbloom.github.io/

But locally, the site does highlight the search word in various posts.
However, when I first bring up the site, I'm getting a "404 Page not found".
