libvips seems to be needed for joplin to start (while joplin-desktop starts fine without). It is mentioned in upstream here as a possible dependency for Apple Silicon, even though there are other people (non Apple) that raised a similar issues.
To reproduce, I've tried to run makepkg -sir and expected libvips to be removed, which it didn't (probably because makepkg checks only the top level dependencies (see here). Still libvips is not a dependency of any joplin packages, so maybe the user has removed it while clearing out orphans?
Anyway, I'll create a PR that will set libvips as a dependency of joplin.
