from the demo it looks like you store the images in the same folder as the note. Can you make this store them in the default forlder for new attachments specified in settings.
when the web image's name is chinese characters, it can't resolve it right.eg:
https://www.pizyds.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/%E5%B1%8F%E5%B9%95%E6%88%AA%E5%9B%BE40.png
will be downloaded as %E5%B1%8F%E5%B9%95%E6%88%AA%E5%9B%BE40.png instead of 屏幕截图40.png
may be the file name extraction method can be modified?
When try to use this plugin to download images to local folder, it will mismatch iamges order and use some repeat images to replace the right one.
This plugin is perfect to process notes that were imported from Roam. Roam stores all files in firebase and all you get is a link. No way to back up your files.
With this plugin, I can import all the images from my Roam notes into my Obsidian Vault. Marvelous !
It would be a dream if it could also do the same for other files, especially PDF... Possible?
Make page processing in "Process all pages in the vault" sequential according to the @lishid's comment
Is it possible to process only the selected web images?
Because there are many times when I don't need to download all the images of the whole article.
I use the Linux operating system. Sometimes Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V are used, Links like this will be generated“ file:///tmp/xxx.png ”
thank you
I have a suggested enhancement...
src
attribute in more element types - eg. <source>
Using podcast app Snipd, users can clip parts of podcast episodes. Snips stores the clip, together with a transcript, AI generated summary and any user-contributed notes.
These lists can be exported to formats including Obsidian Markdown, allowing for review, reading and even listening of the clips inside an Obsidian note.
The exported files use <audio>
to embed the user's clips, stored remotely...
<audio controls> <source src="https://traffic.megaphone.fm/SCIM5444804832.mp3?updated=1659667448#t=09:38,10:44"> </audio>
Given the impermanence of things online, it may be advantageous for a user to download these clips to local storage.
Supporting .mp3 and <source>
would allow for this.
Thanks for your work. Is it possible to paste images into a {fileName}.assets subfolder like Typora? For a file "example.md" create images folder ./{fileName}.assets. So in the same directory there will be a example.assets folder created when you paste images in obsidian.
Instead of create external links (![Alt text](path/to/file/image.png)
) insert images just in the Obsidian format (![[image.png]]
).
The first option gets in the way because the images appear in Graph View as if they were external files.
thanks
Hello, how about that use UUID or other unique ID as filename? I found that some images' filename is not unique.
Seems to be incompatible with Simple Embeds plugin. The presence of the image just does not register.
Greetings,
Is it possible to import images for any selected pages rather than 1 or all.
When the url of the two pictures are very similar like this:
![](https://picsum.photos/100/300.jpg)
![](https://picsum.photos/200/300.jpg)
Local Images plugin will only download image 300.jpg
![](media/300.jpg)
Hi,
thank you for taking the effort to program such a useful plugin. I know it is new, so I like to tell you that I installed it in my obsidian version on my Macbook and the plugin does not work at all. I am used to install and activate plugins and don't see an obvious reason from my side why it does not work. So probably it has to do with the code?
I find your plugin very useful and I appreciate your time you spend on this. Very helpful.

Hi @aleksey-rezvov, is this repository still active? The last commit was about one year ago.
Certain images are not downloading. For example, this image will not download:
https://asylum.madhouse-project.org/assets/asylum/images/posts/multi-purpose-keys/m01-layout.png
This is the error I'm getting:

Hi
I have had some trouble with a media folder named 10000 - Media
I believe the issue is with the spaces.
I had to change the markdown link to 10000%20-%20Media
to make the links to work.
If I put 10000%20-%20Media
in the plugins settings media folder
. It doesn’t work because it creates 10000%20-%20Media
as another folder.
Instead, I modified the imageTagProcessor
function to write the markdown link with 10000%20-%20Media
via encoding the whole link before writing.
The following line
with
if (fileName) {
const filenameTmp = encodeURI(fileName);
return `![${anchor}](${filenameTmp})`;
}
I wasn't sure what functionrecreateImageTag
did but presumed it should be changed as well.
obsidian-local-images/src/utils.ts
Line 48 in b39cc25
with
function recreateImageTag(match, anchor, link) {
console.info(link);
link = encodeURI(link);
console.info(link);
return `![${anchor}](${link})`;
}
I just wondered if anything else needs to be changed and if this will break current links and workflows in other peoples vaults?
Obsidian Version 0.12.19
Local Images Version 0.14.2
When I run this plugin it works wonderfully for many image types but seems to ignore PNG image links. I've tried with several PNG image URLs and the plugin skips them.
media/300.jpg to ../media/300.jpg ??
After the conversion, the current internal image link is ![](Assets/grid.jpg)
.
This will not work when it is stored on Github since Github uses a different link format. If there is an option to use the relative/absolute directory, such as ![](../../Assets/grid.jpg)
, it will be great.
Add features to make it applicable to relative folders, but not the only folder.
When multiple consecutive pictures are pasted from the clipboard at the same time, there will be a serious problem in batch localization using the plug in the pictures will become only a few repeated and the order is chaotic. For example, I copied in 50 pictures, and only 4 pictures remained after running the command. They kept repeating and the order was chaotic. This plug-in is a plug-in that I think is very easy to use. It will be better if we can solve this problem!
Nice plugin! Thanks.
It would be nice if user can set up the folder to save the files. For example, in media/%mdfilename%/, so all the saved files would be stuck unorderly in one folder.
Please add support for mobile.
For fun i tried to change the flag from true to false and manually install your plugin on mobile.
I found that some websites use nested links like [![caption](https://xxx.png)](https://xxx.png)
and the plugin only resolve the inner link into [![caption](local/path)](https://xxx.png)
. If it's possible to remove the outer one? Thanks a lot!
Looks like On Paste Processing option doesn't work.
When I paste url image to my note than I need to run download images command manually to start the downloading process.
Any idea why is it happening, any chance to fix it?
If I copy an image and paste it, it would paste it from a link and preview it. But, if I Shift
+ Paste, then it creates a local file for the image and pastes it.
Is there something different with his plugin?
EDIT: Got it. It can actually capture all the images in the selected and pasted text. While what I was suggesting, it was just for images.
The plugin doesn't support proxy. There is no place to add a proxy,and the system proxy doesn't work too. However,obsidian can load network images which must using system proxy. Could you please add this feature?
Thank you and sorry for my poor english.
I hope Supports “ file:///” protocol
and this picture will saved in the local vault。
For example:
i pasted a picture like this:
![](file:///C:\Users\xxxxxx.png)
but I want it to be like this
![](media/xxxx.png)
Imagine a system with note types like this...
All of those are very different types. Using a single media folder would store unrelated images together. This could also become a management headache.
How about being able to set multiple media folder destinations?
This could be based on...
When paste the links into obsidian, I always need to use command to trigger local images, Is there a way to automatically convert to a local image when pasting a link?
Thank you!
When the plug-in is used on a Chinese website, sometimes the plug-in cannot directly recognize the link that has appeared in the article, but it can recognize the link copied from the web page; when the plug-in is used to automatically scan, the picture will not appear in the correct position.
If i have for example this link with a name and size ![image|444](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FRf4fsMX0Ac5cK2.jpg)
the image gets the name of the link and size like this image|444.jpg
and not the image original name FRf4fsMX0Ac5cK2.jpg
The link in the document is changed to ![image|444](media/image|444.jpg)
so the link name is kept as is but the image now have the wrong name. Is this by design or is it a bug?
I would prefer to always keep the original filename and not pick up the link name as it does now, or have an option in the settings so i can choose to save the original filename or to save the file with the link name as filename.
