esphome-config's Issues

ESPHOME update - ESP8266 warnings in logging

Edited my issue and changed the title

This is not really an issue because data is passing through to home assistant, but i would like to know what the warning messages are in the ESP8266 logs.

Main thing:
Is HA showing live output of the Sensor? > Yes.

Some info
I decide to update esphome from an older version to the latest one and got some issues regarding the esp8266 (which is connected to my P1).

Changes for me:

  • OTA has changed. Minor change in the yaml file will solve that for ESP8266 and ESP32 boards.

ESPHOME:
2024.6.6

Home Assistant:

  • Is HA showing live output of the Sensor? > Yes.
  • ESP8266 showing only the warnings.

Warning:
The ESP8266 was throwing some errors when reading the log file

INFO Successfully connected to esp8266-p1 @ <IP_ADDRESS> in 0.006s
INFO Successful handshake with esp8266-p1 @ <IP_ADDRESS> in 0.023s
[12:40:49][W][component:237]: Component dsmr took a long time for an operation (1032 ms).
[12:40:49][W][component:238]: Components should block for at most 30 ms.

I can ignore the message by changing the error logging, but rather would like to know what is causing this error.

Logger Fix:
https://esphome.io/components/logger.html
I changed my logger to NONE to get rid of the warnings.. In case i run into issues i will change it to DEBUG

After that:

  • Restart ESPHome docker container or integration in Home Assistant.
  • Restart Home assistant
  • Disconnect the ESP8266 from the powersocket. Wait 10 seconds and connect again.

Question:
What is causing these messages and is there something to be fixed or just ignore it?

@aiolos
Might change the sample yaml files? When users will use the samples on the new ESPhome version it won't work.

About Nibe heatpump

Hi.
Hi have an old Nibe F1145 and I just wonder if you have done anything more on the Nibe heatpump?
And do you have any more examples?
Maybe on how to read the different size, s16, s32, u8, u16 and u32.
For example Outdoor/Indoor temperature, Voltage on Phase 1-3 and Current on phase 1-3.
