plymouth-openrc-plugin's Issues

Cannot write to /run/plymouth/pid

Plugin assumes /run is available (and ebuild orders to create it), but doesn't even try to create a "plymouth" sub-directory on runtime. It is necessary, as udev when detecting /run automagically mounts it as tmpfs overwriting leaving only "lock" and "udev" in /run.

Please fix it - either by creating missing directory or by not hard-compiling pid-file path into plugin.

Splash does not display on shutdown.

Because it shuts down as soon as it sees localmount go past, and that's now at the beginning of the shutdown process instead of the end.

line 243: substitute "mount-ro" for "localmount".

(I know you're not maintaining this anymore, so if you don't want to fix it, that's fine. But now at least it's here for anyone who needs to know.)

Gentoo dracut with dmsquash-live module ,issue at shutdown

Hello ,i am using this plugin with dracut and squashfs filesystem,,and when i poweroff the machine , the daemon stack, at the service acpi, with the message "starting the plymoouthd " .If i remove from the bootcmd the splash option to boot the dracut initramfs without plymouth , the plugin work fine at power off. How i can resolve this issue ?Any idea ?

Is this work developed by someone else?

First of all, excellent work. It's 2017 and OpenRC it's on its 0.23.2 version, and this plugin still works! even when shutting down!
Although it would be interesting to know if there is a fork or continuation of this very good work. Does anyone knows any? Thanks!

P.S.: I'm building a PKGBUILD of this program to upload it to the Arch Linux User Repository (AUR), so that's why I want to know about a more modern replacement, but anyway, this one is awesome.
